Questions abound regarding his Arkansas pardons.
This can be the anti-slogan to be said-
"Please Mike Huckabee, don't do to America what you failed to do after Bill Clinton gave you the Arkansas Governor Job"
Wait, same thing can be said about GWB too...
:stirpot
He's also extremely weak on immigration policy border security which could potentially be dangerous to all of us in this era of terrorism.

He's an ordained Baptist minister. A vote for him would be a vote for the trinity and against the Holy Ghost!

The reason not to vote for Huckabee for President:
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2007/12/09/fns-huckabee-pedals-around-his-aids-quarantine-statement/
When he stated that he had a friend with AIDS was his attempt at damage control; however, it reminded me of something a bigot would have said under scrutiny. A bigot would have stated, "I have black friends" after he/she had just discriminated against an African-American. It was obvious that something with this man didn't exactly square with his "Christian" beliefs. The one thing that GWB has proven was just because you have stated you were a Christian doesn't mean that you were a true Christian.
Ron Paul has remained the only hope for our country to be the country that our founding fathers had intended it to be....one that upheld the Constitution and the Bill of Rights!

I don't see that at all. He did not run from what he said. I remember a time in my life when I thought that aids patients should be quarantined. Today, with more knowledge of it, I think differently.
No doubt, Huckabee is not a perfect person as some of you would like a president to be. But he is the candidate who most holds views that are in line with the bible.

When the AIDS epidemic first happened, I could understand someone thinking that those infected should be quarantined; however, seven years after the CDC came out with the report that it couldn't be contracted by casual contact would you have felt the same way? Huckabee was a politician who was clearly trying to garner votes from people who wanted to quarantine the sinner not the disease after making that statement in 1992. Did Jesus advocate to quarantine the leper? No, he ministered to them and healed them!

With your clear hatred of Bush, and the fact that you get your news from people like Arianna Huffington you are clearly a liberal Democrat. Go ahead and vote for Clinton or Obama. Or for that fact a republican like Giuliani who thinks it is OK to murder babies, cheat on your wife, or be a homosexual.
Or you could vote for one of the other two republicans who really don't know were they stand when it comes to murdering babies. Romney ran on a pro-choice platform when running for governor of Massatuches, how convenient.

Huckabee is far from perfect, but he is clearly the best choice. As far as Bush goes, he has not been perfect either. However, we have had the best economy ever in the history of the US under his administration.
He appointed two strict constructionist judges to the supreme court getting us closer to reversing Roe Vs. Wade. We have not had another attack by terrorist here in the US since nine eleven, and taxes were lowered. And to think, he did it all without cheating on his wife with another women in the oval office. Your post was full of assumptions and was downright slanderous! You knew nothing about me, yet you wrote that I hated Bush and was a liberal democrat. You sir, were wrong on both accounts!
I merely posted facts that were readily available on the web regarding Huckabee's record. Furthermore, I have always been pro-life and have always voted Republican, except for the last Presidential election. I voted for Bush as Governor and during his first run for President, but I couldn't vote for him the second time because of his foreign policy mistakes. Bush obviously either lied to the American people or was the most inept President in history when he made the case to go to war with Iraq.
Where was the WMD? Where was the link between 911 and Saddam/Iraq? He has even admitted that there was no link between 911 and Saddam/Iraq. Was the Iraq war worth the lives of thousands of innocent civilian lives and military personnel? We saw the same rhetoric this year that he used to get us into the Iraq war when he tried to build a the case to go to war with Iran. Now, we have seen that his administration knew earlier this year that Iran had stopped their nuclear weapons program.
I was in the military and I have always loved my country. As a Christian, I have grieved when I have seen those poor innocent children die, because of the unjust war in Iraq. How would you feel if another country invaded America and killed our civilian population?
If you had taken the time to read the last sentence of my first posts on this thread, you would have noticed that I back Ron Paul for President. It was unfortunate that you had to turn this into a personal attack instead of a debate on the facts!

I was not meaning to turn anything into a personal attack. If you took it that way I apologize, I could have worded it differently.
However, I totally disagree with you about Bush and the war. We should have brought them into compliance many years earlier. They signed a surrender treaty from the the first war. They did not live up to it. The fact of war is that people get killed. That's sad. However, I challenge you to sit down and figure how many innocent civilians were killed, tortured, and raped under the regime of Saddam.
If I had to live in fear everyday of my 10 year old daughter being taken out of class to be taken to Saddam's son to be raped I would be praying for a country like America to come invade.
I have old military buddies that are still serving with the 222 Infantry and 75 Ranger regiment that have been there on the ground in the think of it all from the beginning. They tell me a different story then what you are reading and hearing by a biased, liberal news media.
Was everything done perfectly? NO! Was there a lot of bad decisions made? Yes! There will be bad decisions made by any president that serves. They are human. Abraham Lincoln was considered at his time to be a horrible president. He made a lot of bad decisions as well. However, he is now remembered as one of the best presidents to serve.
As far as Iran. If you buy the story that they are not enriching uranium I have a beach house here in Missouri I will sell you.
They still will not let inspectors in. I wonder why?
I would vote for the a republican with the IQ of ten who was pro life before I would for a Democrat who believes in murdering babies.
I apologize again for painting you as a liberal or a Bush hater. However, when someone tells me they get their news from the biased, liberal sources that you stated, such as the Huffington post, I cannot help being led to believe that.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- While presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee is surging in new polls of GOP candidates, a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll released Tuesday shows he would lose to all three leading Democratic candidates by double digits in hypothetical contests.
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee has doubled his support nationally among GOP voters, a poll says.
In head-to-head matchups -- the first to include Huckabee -- the former Arkansas governor loses to Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York by 10 percentage points (54 percent to 44 percent), to Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois by 15 points (55 percent to 40 percent) and to former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina by 25 points (60 percent to 35 percent).
The poll comes on the heels of a CNN/Opinion Research poll released Monday that showed Huckabee doubled his support nationally among likely Republican voters in the last month and is in a statistical dead heat with former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani. View complete poll results
But Huckabee's double-digit deficits with the leading Democrats likely suggest that the Arkansas Republican still lacks widespread name recognition nationally, according to Keating Holland, CNN's polling director. Video Watch as CNN's Bill Schneider analyzes changes in the races »
"Americans tend not to support candidates they're not familiar with, and it's possible Huckabee's numbers are low in these hypothetical matchups because he is still not very well known nationally," Holland said.
The poll also shows that Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona would do best against leading Democrats. He beats Clinton by 2 percentage points (50 percent to 48 percent), ties Obama (48 percent to 48 percent) and loses to Edwards by a smaller margin (8 points) than the other Republican candidates do.
In addition to Huckabee, Giuliani and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney lose to all three top Democrats in the survey.
On the Democratic side, Edwards performs best against each of the leading Republicans. In addition to beating Huckabee by 25 percent and McCain by 8 percent, the North Carolina Democrat beats Romney by 22 percentage points (59 percent to 37 percent).
While the survey shows McCain and Edwards performing best in their respective fields, both candidates continue to significantly trail their parties' front-runners significantly. In the national horse race numbers released Monday, McCain trails Giuliani by 11 percentage points, and Edwards is behind Clinton by 26 percentage points.
"Edwards is the only Democrat who beats all four Republicans, and McCain is the only Republican who beats any of the three Democrats," Holland said. "Some might argue this shows that they are the most electable candidates in their respective parties.
advertisement
"But Edwards is in third place among Democrats, and McCain is in fourth place on the GOP side. Maybe electability is not as important as it was in 2004."
The poll, conducted between Thursday and Sunday, surveyed 912 registered voters. It carries a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Yes, polls are very hard to rely on. But they can give us a general idea, at least. I don't know, after watching the debates over the last few months, he just seems phony. Every answer he gives sounds like it is specifically designed to please that audience, at that time.

(...) but I couldn't vote for him the second time because of his foreign policy mistakes. Bush obviously either lied to the American people or was the most inept President in history when he made the case to go to war with Iraq.
Where was the WMD?
The United Nations in New York had to be evacuated a couple of months ago because an envelope with a sample of biological material found in Iraq was found in a safe there. If this was not evidence of a WMD program, then why did the UN empty its own building over a couple of swabs?
John Negreponte reported the finding of 500 artillery shells loaded with sarin nerve gas in a letter here (http://www.captainsquartersblog.com/mt/pubfiles/iraqwmd.pdf). Tens of thousands of unarmed chemical artillery shells have been found as well.
Journalist Douglas Farah (http://www.amazon.com/Merchant-Death-Money-Planes-Possible/dp/0470048662/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1197453045&sr=8-1) documents Victor Bout's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viktor_Bout) involvement behind the famous truck convoy that left Iraq ahead of the U.S. led invasion. What was on the trucks that went to Syria? And did that cargo have anything to do with Israel's recent bombing of Syrian nuclear facilities?
There was no massive "smoking gun" of WMDs found in Iraq. There was just evidence of an illegal WMD program that Sadaam tried to hide from the U.N. inspectors. Reading the documents that led up to the war, it was Sadaam's refusal to cooperate with the U.N. that led to his overthrow.
Bush never tried to make the case that there was a connection between 9/11 and Sadaam. He seems to think that the evidence wasn't damning enough; even though al Qaeda's "New Years Eve bomber" Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was given sanctuary and living in Iraq and an extremist militant group linked to al Queda operated a large base in the northern mountains along the border with Iran.
Where was the link between 911 and Saddam/Iraq? He has even admitted that there was no link between 911 and Saddam/Iraq.
You said he either lied or was inept when he said there was. Now you say he didn't say that? Or did he say both? Give me a link here.
I assert that he never even tried to make the case that there was a link. Bloggsters on HuffPost say otherwise, but they're lying to you.
Was the Iraq war worth the lives of thousands of innocent civilian lives and military personnel?
War is never "worth it." And that's only one of the nasty things about war.
One point here though: the rate of "civilian death" in Iraq dropped dramatically after the U.S. led invasion. Prior to March of 2003, Iraqi civilians and soldiers were being slaughtered at a terrible rate. Millions.
Here's a test: look up the "mass graves" that were found in Iraq since 2003. Compare the number of bodies in those graves to the number of bodies reportedly killed by "American firepower." You will find that Sadaam killed far, far more of his own people than the U.S. has.
Add to the equation that we were shooting at bad guys who were often bent on killing as many of their own countrymen as they could. Despite the horrors of war, what Iraq has now is a whole lot better than during Sadaam's 24 year war on his own people.
We saw the same rhetoric this year that he used to get us into the Iraq war when he tried to build a the case to go to war with Iran. Now, we have seen that his administration knew earlier this year that Iran had stopped their nuclear weapons program.
So they've stopped spinning those 3,500 centrifuges and cancelled their orders for more (http://www.reuters.com/article/topNews/idUSBLA15174620071211)? Nope (http://www.tnr.com/politics/story.html?id=e240cac9-e666-4092-ba87-2c4e703b3e6d) (interesting analysis from TNR). The spin continues (http://www.arabtimesonline.com/client/pagesdetails.asp?nid=9259&ccid=11) and you just swallow it whole.
Iran is currently engaged in a massive program to enrich uranium (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/12/07/tech/main3589706.shtml). They are also building a heavy water breeder reactor (http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2007-11/24/content_7139614.htm) which does not need enriched uranium. What's all the enriched uranium for then? Dental prosthetics?
I was in the military and I have always loved my country.
Thank you for your service.
As a Christian, I have grieved when I have seen those poor innocent children die, because of the unjust war in Iraq.
What poor innocent children are you talking about? And you say the war is "unjust." Some would argue that all wars are "unjust." Since you say that this war is unjust, by what terms are you trying to determine justice here?
How would you feel if another country invaded America and killed our civilian population?
If I lived in a country like Sadaam's Iraq that only broke off from making war with itself long enough to make war with its neighbors; and if an invasion brought me hope of a real chance at a better life, then yeah! Go for it! And don't drag your feet while you're doing it.
If you had taken the time to read the last sentence of my first posts on this thread, you would have noticed that I back Ron Paul for President. It was unfortunate that you had to turn this into a personal attack instead of a debate on the facts!
Would you also support Rosie O'Donnell for public office? Both Rosie and Ron Paul have publically stated that the U.S. either "deserved" 9/11 or "brought it on themselves." That's a despicable statement. RP doesn't deserve your vote. You're better than that.
Did anyone already mention that Huckabee asked Romny if he believed that jesus and the devil were brothers?? hahahahahahahahahhaaaaa!!!!
That's one of the Doctrines of the Mormon faith just in case someone didn't know

Here you go:
WASHINGTON (CNN) — Republican Mike Huckabee is facing fire Wednesday for comments he makes in an upcoming New York Times Magazine article that appear to disparage the Mormon faith.
In the article, a preview of which is posted on the New York Times Web site, the former Arkansas governor is quoted as asking, "Don't Mormons believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers?"
The comment came after New York Times reporter Zev Chafets asked Huckabee point-blank whether he thought Mormonism was a religion or a cult. Huckabee, a former Baptist minister, said he thought it was the former, but conceded he doesn't "know much about it."
Speaking on NBC's Today Show, rival candidate Mitt Romney — himself a Mormon — said, "I think attacking someone's religion is really going too far. It's not the American way."
In a statement released late Tuesday night, Huckabee's campaign said the candidate was taken out of context in the New York Times article and was not bashing the religion but instead was "illustrating his unwillingness to answer questions about Mormonism and to avoid addressing theological questions during this campaign."
"Gov. Huckabee has said consistently that he believes this campaign should center on a discussion of the important issues confronting our nation, and not focus on questions of religious belief," Dr. Charmaine Yoest, a senior advisor to the campaign said in a statement. "He wants to assure persons of all faith traditions of his firm commitment to religious tolerance and freedom of worship."
Huckabee, who is currently locked in a heated battle with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney for support among the evangelical community, also took heat earlier this month for declining to say whether he thinks Mormonism is a cult.
"I'm just not going to go off into evaluating other people's doctrines and faiths. I think that is absolutely not a role for a president," he said.
Huckabee told reporters last week he didn't watch Romney's highly anticipated speech on his faith. But the former Baptist minister argued that he has been confronted with questions about his faith more than Romney has, and that he would make a "God speech" himself if given the airtime.
"I get all of the God questions at the debates, so you know when people say, 'Oh, he had to make a speech,' I'm thinking, 'Hey you know what? If you'll give me national television time, I'll make you a God speech, and I'll tell you what I'll do, I'll throw in an offering and an altar call to throw in with it.'"

:santathumbThe United Nations in New York had to be evacuated a couple of months ago because an envelope with a sample of biological material found in Iraq was found in a safe there.
You said he either lied or was inept when he said there was. Now you say he didn't say that? Or did he say both? Give me a link here.
I assert that he never even tried to make the case that there was a link. Bloggsters on HuffPost say otherwise, but they're lying to you.
