Sex, sex, and more sex

We're expecting a baby this May, and we've begun to debate whether we should ask the ultrasound technician to keep the baby's sex a surprise. The first ultrasound when the sex is discernable is in just a couple weeks.

We've found out early with our other children, but I think there might be something to the experience we've been missing by depriving ourselves of the suspense and surprise.

When I found out my 2 children we going to be boys.

I stopped talking to my wifes' belly in baby talk.

I wanted them to know your Dad is here and ready to take you on!

One on one in Baseball/Nintendo/basketball/football.

I'm not sure what I would have done; it was not an option in the 70's.

It may be an advantage to know in advance. We were renters at the births of all 3 children;therefore, no nursery colors or decor, how did they survive?
3 different cities, doctors etc > and since most churches only give a shower for the 1st baby or a newcomer....I had 3 baby showers!!!:jolly

congrats! we are due in june and will find out the sex! it is SOOO much easier knowing what to plan for!

I knew of an tech many years ago who took great relish in telling the family the wrong sex....... or if you did not want to know kept saying "oh HE has nice hands, there are HIS feet.."

Sick puppy now probably is a greeter at Costco.

Many yrs ago when I became a parent they didnt do sonograms unless it was a dire emergency so you had no idea what you were getting until it got here.

these days the sonograms are so detailed, you dont need to be a tech to know what you are looking at.

my dr offers a 3-D ultrasound. you can actually see the color of hair the child has. it is an extra $100 to do it. i said i didnt want it...really dont care about those details right now, but my husband said YES he wanted it. so i guess i am having it :-)
