My husband caught a 65 lb. catfish and last year a 95 lb Gar.
Our oldest son was visiting and when they pulled the gar into the boat he said, "Dad, I'm going to let you handle this one." :toofunny
Of course you have to bash it's head in.
They get back to the house and his wife is videoing the boat and all the fish. When she shoots the bloody boat he is narrating and says, "And this is worse than a crime scene in Hollywood."

Yes, first time I encountered one I almost fell out of the boat. AND he played a trick on me. He put out jug lines and told me to pick one up OUT OF THE WATER! Out shoots the huge nose and it snaps! I screamed, "I don't want it!!!!" and dropped the jug.
He died laughing!!! Creep! :toofunny

Well, I ain't one to brag, but, I did catch a shark in Florida one time. Yep. Sure did. And had shark for supper that night.
Problem was, though, we had to buy the shark we had for supper. The one I caught was less than 12" long.

I don't have a pic. :) But I did catch a trout once at Roaring River that was 2.5 lbs or so. It looked really big to me.
I think I've probably caught a few catfish bigger than that, but trout are a lot more fun, and more memorable.

Ok, I can't find the Official Fishing Thread, but this one fits.
Here's the large-mouth bass I caught on Saturday on the Wolf River. It weighed just over 3 pounds and was 19 inches long. That's almost a newborn....LOL!
Oh, and don't look at my hair. It's awful!

And in this pic, pay attention to the cat on the right side of the picture. Too bad you can't see what he did just after this pic was taken. I didn't even feel it, but my daughter watched him do it!!

That's LR's yard. Just behind me, outside the range of the pic, is a nice trout creek! LR caught three trout there last week.

My husband has caught a 25 lb. Red fish. The biggest crappie he ever caught was 4lbs. 12 oz. That is big for a crappie. We did not get to fish any this year. It was either too windy or rainy!!! Maybe this Fall. We do not hot weather fish!

I need advice. LadyRev caught a bowfin the other night but we aren't sure what to do with it. She filleted it and put it in the freezer, but the meat is mushy and it has a strong fishy smell. Is that normal? Are they good to eat? Here's a pic of it.

Ok. This is weird. There are locals here who have never heard of bowfins. LR and I went fishing and just returned. She caught 6 bluegill/sunnys, and I caught a bass, a bluegill, and...a bowfin!! LR has been fishing here for many years, minus the time she was in Memphis, but has never caught, seen, nor heard of these fish until she caught her's. Mine wasn't quite as big as her's, but about 18 inches long. I took the hook out of his mouth and let him go, since we don't know if they are edible or not.
Hasn't anyone else heard of these fish? I'm not learning much online about them either.
