Does anyone have the lyrics to "I Know God Is God"?
I know God is God, and God don't ever change, I know God is God, and Jesus is His name. I need the verses if anyone has them>

He's God up on the platform, He's God back at the door, He's God in the Amen corner, and He's all God all over the floor.

He's God when the lightening flashes, He's God when the Thunder rolls, He's God way up in heaven, and He's God way down in my soul.

and it could go on and on if you have things you want to add.

That is what I can remember and how I remember them, I am finding things vary from region to region, church group to church group.

He's God in the father, He's God in the son, He's God in the HOly Ghost...
He's God all three in one.

Yeah.... I forgot about that one.
Guess I didn't want to sound trinitarian

Ive heard it sung

I know God is God, and God don't never change, I know God is God, and He always will be God.

or how about

God is God, He's one God He's not three, He's only got one church, it's called the UPC

or how about

He's God in Kentucky, He's God in Tennessee, He's God all over creation and He sure is God to me

this is a little more appropriate if you are from Kentucky or Tennessee or from Detroit or Cincinnati where most of the folks come from Kentucky or Tennessee

Isn't that the truth.

Out here in Arizona every one is from Michigan, Ohio, or Minnesota. At least it seems that way.

Ah, my pet peeve of this song being sung incorrectly, of which I have many.

The "double negative" of "don't never" makes it a "positive", meaning "don't never" becomes "always" - now, there's an erroneous statement if I ever saw one!!

Yes, I'm an English teacher in another life!!:reaction

It's obvious that churches sung all different kinds of words. I'm not sure there is a 'proper' version.....LOL!

I agree totally :) I think I may have made up a verse or two when I was caught up in the spirit at church. I have done that on My Soul Says Yes too!!!! Actually, I do that a lot!! LOL!!! I add things that I think sound good!

And I prefer [B]not[B]to sing it at all!

And yes, I got the part about the floor coinciding with the other parts of the building - but I think our church was trying to make the song a bit less off-the-wall. (pardon the pun!!)

Long story short, it's one of those "blah blah let's make a noise and show how spiritual we are" songs.

I don't sing it.

My former pastor's wife was good at making up words.

During one shockamoo service, we were singing 'The devil don't allow no shouting around here' (yes, it's a double negative song, I never did understand that!), and she was jamming on the organ. Soon, we heard strange words.

No, it wasn't the Holy Ghost. She was singing "Momma don't allow no shouting around here".

LOL!!

Could someone please tell me where I can find the ORIGINAL words to this song? I need a soundtrack for this so it can be sung at my church. I have been to two music stores and have been told that it is no longer in circulation because it is so old. I need to know who sang it or who wrote it. Please HELP !

I thought I heard it was written by a man in California named Mackey eons ago. He had a brother named Earl Mackey. They were from California (I'm thinking Valley) then Earl settled in Oregon. I could be totally misinformed though.

My Sunday School lesson for tomorrow adds this verse to this song to teach that God is always with us and that He can bring the good out of the bad:

He's God when things are going good.
He's God when things are bad.
And if I will praise Him,
He'll fix my crooked path.

Just felt to add this. Ya never know, maybe someone just needed a little reminder that all things for the good to them that love God and are called according to His purpose.

God is God Lyrics

Well, He's God up on the platform
He's God back at the door
He's God up in the choir room
He's all God all over the floor

Chorus:
I know God is God, God doesn't ever change
I know God is God, Jesus is his name

Well you can read the bible, read it through and through
But all you'll find is one God, And you should praise him too

Chorus

Well Jesus is the father, Jesus is the son,
Jesus is the Holy Ghost, All these three are one

Chorus

He's God when lightening flashes, He's God when Thunder rolls,
He's God way up in heaven, He's God down in my soul.

Chorus

(Repeat for worship, and you can also throw your own rhymes in there if they are one God hehe)

You can search this Holy Bible-
You can read it through and through.
You'll only find the one God you won't find the other 2.

He's God in Oklahoma, He's God in Tennessee,He's God right her in (fill in the blank) and He's God all over me!

We sing it at church all the time. The lyrics I know for sure are -

He's God in the Father. He's God in the Son. He's God in the Holy Ghost, He's God all three in one!
I know that God is God, And God don't ever change
I know that God is God, And Jesus is His name!

I love that song - Anout the Trinity mentioned:
Jesus - God's Son, talked about he being in the Father & the Father in him - yet they were two persons in one - The Holy Ghost - who was hoovering over the face of the deep at earth's cretion & who decended upon Jesus 'in the form of a dove' when John babtised Jesus - is one with the Father & Son - Father - Son & Holy Ghost or Spirit - 'The three are still 'ONE' GOD -
In the book of Mark Jesus says "I will be sitting at the 'right hand' of the Father - So - they can be 'one' yet seperate - God doesn'thave splits in His personality - Like Jesus said, "I Am" when they questioned His deity - For 'the three are still' one God - Love to All - In Jesus Name- Amen -

Must be a yankee, because yankee grammar is incorrect. Double negatives are perfectly fine and well-known to be correct standard English both in England and south of the Mason-Dixon Line. Although many north of the Line still speak it in spite of the misguided corrections of their more liberally educated betters.

Yes, I taught English grammar for over 20 years and still do, along with history, dialectics (both formal and material) and rhetoric. :thumbsup
