Ok Canucks what is Victoria Day and why is it on MAY.19 ?

We're still considered part of the Commonwealth of England... Here's the official description of Victoria Day and it's origins.

It's a boring read, so in a nutshell, Canada is still ceremonially tied to England (they actually have no real power in our affairs) and since 1845 has taken a day to celebrate the birthday of the reigning monarch.. (originally Queen Victoria, thus named Victoria Day)
We like it because it means another long weekend from work.
