Welcome to the Forum. That means you have a "Friends Request" Just accept the friends request and it should stop blinking.

:reactionHmmm, I never got a "friends request". Does that mean I don't have any friends???? :tissue

Notifications can be PM, friends request or other message/requests. If you click on the Obnoxious Blinking Notification, it will show you which one you need to answer. (It will be bolded and have a number to the right). Once you take care of the request or read the PM, the OBN will go away. :) (And so will the bold font & the number)

You have one now. If (or when) you accept me, I will be your friend. Not until then, though.

Then you probably have more items that you need to open or look at.
Whatever is causing it to blink will be bolded when you click on Your Notifications. It will also tell you how many items you have.
Did you have more than one, and didn't notice? :dunno

Occationally I have to check (whatever item is causing the blinking) twice to get it to shut off. Many times once I read a PM, I go back to the main page and it still tells me that I need to read the PM that I just read, I will have to read the same PM again to get it to shut off.

Did you reply to that PM? Once when I didn't reply to a PM that happened.

You just have to go into your PM and open it. You shouldn't have to actually reply to it. :winkgrin

I have not replied to a few but it only happened to me that once. I get a lot of PM's, I have more problems forgetting to log out and clear my cookies.

What you most likely did was not refresh your page. :winkgrin
If you use your back button, it is essentially taking you back to the same page, and it will still contain the blinking notification. Just hit refresh, and it will disappear.

Well I generally hit the "Apostolic Friends Forum" button from my inbox. It is usually pretty rare for me to use the back button.
