Indians have not a Country of there own.
It's a blessing The Spanish Language is alive.
When is the last time you heard any Native American Dialect?
My kids and wife are registered in The Choctaw Nation, But I am not offended at Indian jokes.
Maybe because its hard to find one?

If you want to see beautiful humble and prayerful folks, check out some border churches in Texas and New Mexico. I have been to most huge and powerful churches in North America and nothing can compare to church services with these hermanos!

Which band of the Choctaw is your wife registered with? The primary tribal band or one of the more remote obscure bands?
I am Choctaw and Chickasaw but have been unable to get the necessary documentation to get registered on the tribal roles. We have found the role numbers for my Great Grandparents on the Dawes roles but have been unable to prove that my grandmother is their daughter since she was born at home.
I am proud of my Indian heritage but I too find humor in Native American jokes.

Sorry, bro...you are in error with this statement. I have personal experience with this scenario.
My close friend was an illegal. They came to church and got saved, her hubby went to work for my hubby's company. (Not his own, at that time) They paid him CASH money. The family had free dental care, medical needs as well as meds PAID for 100%. They eventually got sent BACK to Mexico, but are now back and legal. It took about five years...
My hubby has his own construction business- he says folks of mexican descent are the hardest working men he knows- he loves'em. Besides, they bring the stuff to make homemade lunches on the job site- and he loves fresh jalapenos!!!! LOL

Why should it be not funny to them? I KNOW latinos that would find it funny...they are not illegals. I know some illegals....NOT from Mexico. Of course when it comes to illegals even they are minorities because they are not from Mexico but some other nation.

The REAL issue is that name calling is NOT allowed nor will it be tolerated JUST because a few think they are justified because of someone's outrageous opinions or statements.
that's the only thing. It does not mean I agree with Epley. It does not mean I disagree with you. It does not mean anything other than name calling is not allowed and if someone sees Epley name call, report it. The post that you reported does not have him name calling. Being "culturally insensitive" is not a rule violation. You all have the right to point out how outrageous his statement is, but nobody has the right to name call.
It's expected that when an Epley says something outrageous that you guys are able to refute his statements intelligently. Name calling as a response is not welcome. That is just how it is and will be. There will be no rule change to accomodate those that feel they are justified in calling others names.

I know that. Im speaking in generalities. Nor did I say he was being unpolite. I am speaking matter of factly and without emotion. Name calling is not tolerated. There is no justification for it. Epley did not name call. Being culturally insensitive or being wrong opinioned about a cultural issue is not a rule violation that I know of and I whole heartily agree with your right to show how wrong that person is if they are wrong. Name calling under any circumstances is not welcome on the forum. Intelligent counter arguments are welcome. That should be easy enough to understand
I know that. Im speaking in generalities. Nor did I say he was being unpolite. I am speaking matter of factly and without emotion. Name calling is not tolerated. There is no justification for it. Epley did not name call. Being culturally insensitive or being wrong opinioned about a cultural issue is not a rule violation that I know of and I whole heartily agree with your right to show how wrong that person is if they are wrong. I understand, Praxeas. I will ask you to ponder the following ... is it possible to insult someone without directly calling them names???? If so does it apply in this situation? Will this forum allow insults that are not examples of direct name calling? If so, should the rules be amended to reflect this policy?

or as Matt suggested, in a "Spanish speaking only" forum sub-category....
the forum shouldn't be speckled with Spanish posts that most cannot understand... it disrupts the flow of thread conversations.... I have to go to Babel fish to figure out if what was posted was a slam or not....

You and I had a couple of responses back and forth. Lots of times stuff is on the forum that is just back and forth between two people. Our back and forths were in Spanish. They weren't really written for everyone to read them, but, since this is a public forum, I think it best to use a language understood by all of us.

Why should it be not funny to them? I KNOW latinos that would find it funny...they are not illegals. I know some illegals....NOT from Mexico. Of course when it comes to illegals even they are minorities because they are not from Mexico but some other nation.

I've translated some emails from English to a language I don't even know to be respectful of some folks in my company who don't speak English as their primary language.... I think its rude to speak to a person in a language you know they don't have the ability to communicate in, especially if you are capable of using a language they understand....

I think we are all aware that people use names/nicknames meaningful to them for online forums/chatrooms/etc.... this nickname has meaning to me from years ago and for that reason alone i've used it....
In the post that contained that download URL.... I clearly stated that I could not read or speak Spanish to verify its accuracy.... that should have been a possible indicator that I do not have Spanish roots....

I also agree with Matt's idea and have since opened a Spanish speaking thread....
