Ferd just called. Jack came out of the Tackycardia and is doing good now. They are keeping him overnight for observation but the blood tests came back and everything seems to show that it did not affect him permenantly.
They sincerely thank you all so much for your prayers and I am sure he will come and update more when he gets home.
Thanks again so much

Thank you all for the prayer. Levi and I just got home. Melissa and Jack are at the hospital. They are keeping him overnight for observation.
Jack was in SVT (super ventricular tachacardia) for at least 2 hours. While dangerous, you dont reach critical until somewhere around 24 hours. Thankfully they were able to get him out of it.
It was very traumatic for Melissa and I. there were eight people working on him, IV, 10 lead EKG lines, and a crying tiny baby on a table that we couldnt help.
to bring him out of the SVT, they have to place a bag of ice water on his face for, well I dont know how long. it seemed like an eternity. It took 2 attempts of that to get his heart rythem to come back. each time he screamed and we cried.
he hasnt eaten since 4 pm today and he is really hungry and cannot eat until the Dr. sees him tomorrow. that is just brutal.
please keep us in your prayers. its been a tuff night. for Melissa, it will be very long.
thanks.
one more thing before I go to bed.
Jacks IV blew so they are putting a new one in. Melissa said he was acting like it really hurt him.
anyway, thanks again for the prayer.

Ferd,
Thanks for the update. I can't imagine. I know how bad it hurts when our kids are hurting and especially when we are helpless to make the situation better.
I will be praying ont only for Jack but for you and Melissa as well. Be sure and tell Melissa we are holding her up in prayer.
we are back at the hospital. havnt seen the Dr. yet. Melissa had a really long night. The poor little guy is hungry and all he can have is pedialite and IV.
but his heart rate has been good all night so we are hopefull to go home today. we will see after the DR. gets here later this morning.
thanks again for the prayer.

If it's any help to you at all the fluids they are giving him should be sustaining him nutritionally.
Still praying!

yea, but when the little guy is whining and crying and smaking his lips, mommy and daddy dont really care about that.
right now he is quiet so that is a blessing.

Ferd, I came on here first thing this morning hoping to see a good report. I'm so glad that Jack is doing better, even if the poor little fella is hungry :(
Continuing to pray here for Jack, as well as for Melissa and for you.
Is this something you will have to deal with for all of Jack's life or will he eventually outgrow it?

about 80% of babies grow out of it by age 1
those that dont can have a procedure at age 4 where they go into the heart and distroy the bad electrical pathway that causes this.
the doctor called that a cure. so long term the outlook is execelent. in the meantime, its pretty rough.
well the little booger just got a bottle of milk. now he his happy.
we will be going home in a couple of hours.

Ferd I am so glad everything has turned out good! I have been praying all night. I have had to go without feeding a baby due to being in the hospital waiting on a surgery once so I kind of understand what Melissa and you felt all night. I am so sorry and call me anytime if you all need anything!

This morning I showed Jack's pictures (and Levi in your avatar) to my daughter and wife. They thought the kids are just adorable.
My daughter has her first baby due at the end of September. She is anxiously awaiting her Dr. visit next week because at the last one they said the baby had not grown as expected between visits and if there has not been a growth spurt they are going to do another sonagram.
However the baby is very active and my daughter measured herself the other day and feels the baby has grown so we are looking for a good report next week.
