Does she attend a church in the Bay Area? I wonder if the Lighthouse?

Sorry bro ... just in the area briefly ... less than 2 days.
Maybe we can find a way to hook up soon.
Her best friend lives in San Jose ... her and her husband attend First Church San Jose ... brother Shoemake's.
We worshiped there that Sunday night and took the pics on Monday ...

Some of the pictures at our wedding were the equivelent of a "Flinstones Camera" -where you take a camera body made of stone and stick some prehistoric bird in there to chisel what he see's out of the lens onto another rock slab, all the while coming up with some funny line like ".....it's a living.... <squawk>".

Randy, I love how they do the pics these days, very personal.
Dan & Cass as well as rgcraig daughter pic are very lovely, way to beautiful to keep in photo album, they can be display as art.
Unlike mine they look pose and one friend pointed out my dad look like a prop, sure enough. Dad had the same smile same leaning manner in all the pics, he does not look real. Mom look like a deer caught in headlights.
One Thing I'm going to make sure, my kids have pics done like this. No matter the cost, wish I had.

California ... San Jose.
She is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!!
She looks like a skirt person, how are you going to reconcile that given your beliefs after a period of time? I hope you don't have in the back of your mind that you can change her or that she is going to change because of your influence. I can see also that it is probably her nature.
...just thought I'd ask.
My wife is a skirt person too btw.
Congratulations, guys.
I wish you well.
from an old man who has been married (to the same person) for 50 years.
I was 20 and she was 16, three and one half years difference in age.
Now I'm 70 and she's 67.
We have 5 children, 13 grandchildren, and one great grandchild on the way.
Please do not respond to this post.
Don't hijack the thread.
It's Dan and Cassie's thread.

My wife is a skirt person too btw.
I had a pastor who said, "The two greatest mistakes going into a marriage are:
she thinks she can change him
and
he thinks she will never change"
I can say "amen" to that
although I am a better person now than I was then because of her influence

Hey bro,
Appreciate the concern ....
Tell you what ... Cass is a physical trainer and her apparel changes based on the setting, functionality and occasion ... She is very cognizant and respectful of others "hang-ups" ... probably more than I am.
She shares the same views as I do on dress and salvation ... many of the views she held and practiced before I did. We complement each other in other areas as well ...
We even agree on Barack ....
I thought compatibility was essential ... as did she.
Albeit, she'd chuckle if she read you labeling her as a "skirt person".
As for changing each other ... we both understand that may very well be next to impossible ...
Of course we can help each other improve weak areas and enhance our strengths.
Without a doubt she smooths out my rough edges ... and God knows I have many.

After getting up in the middle of the night and seeing these pictures, I went back to sleep and was doing pre-marital counseling all night. I was trying to explain that Cass & Dan were not going to be able to change the other's views on 1 step or 3-step salvation. I was thinking it would cause the children a bit of conflict because Cass is conservative. Dan is more liberal, and how would this affect the children?
I am not sure that Cass does believe it like Dan because has not been raised with this thinking. 3-step & conservative holiness are obvious in her appearance and talk.
None of my busines mind you...but you guys need to really talk about these salvational issues before saying "I do". Because what fellowship has light with darkness? ;)

My first pastor was orignally Elder F.V. Shoemake and then when he retired it was Pastor Jimmy Shoemake (now elder shoemake). They were both awesome pastors. Neither of them were "Clothesline" preachers and the congregation reflected that (in a good way) Diversity :whistle. I understand that Jon is the exact opposite of what they were, which is interesting to me....never would of expected that of him. Anyway still great :roseglassesmemories of growing up there!

Dress seemed pretty conservative ... at First Church.
I enjoyed the cultural diversity at the church ... very diverse ... Caucasians, Asians, African-Americans, Hispanics ...
Song service was done bi-lingually.

AWESOME! I can't tell you how many hours I spent going out knocking on door's inviting folks (kids mainly) to ride our many church buses to Sunday School! Dressed as a clown once and they didn't have clown makeup, so I improvised with lipstick and could not get rid of the giant lips I had drawn on my face after the fact!!! Once they painted all the buses with different theme's, and the one I worked with was "the flaming chariot" complete with flames painted all down the side of the bus!! We rocked! I have also seen pic's of their new sanctuary and it is beautiful!!!

Her friend is recently married to a young man of Chinese heritage from the church. She re-located from New Mexico this summer. NM is Cass' home state.
I enjoyed the service overall .... the message by the visiting pastor, imo, was "creative" ... to say the very least.
Loved the city.

Well, I think things have changed considerably since I was there, but I will always love the Shoemake family, and yes, the city and area is beautiful. And so much to do! It was killer to come back to this one-horse town after being there. However, the cost of living there is astronomical.

You know, it's painful to go through, but I think sometimes that is what a church needs, especially if they have gone through drastic changes in philosophy.
And that church definitely has. Just from the point when I started going there, to when I left, there had been a pretty big shift, and from everything I have heard, it has gone through even more since I left.
I have to say, I always felt completely loved by that church, I have nothing but fond memories of it.

I am absolutely convinced that their prayers are efficacious for generations after even when they finish the road on this side of eternity.
Revelation 4:8 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.

Getting ready for a big day, yourself ... huh ... ???
Just a couple more weeks and she's off....
How are you coping?
I agree, those pictures are beautiful and look like something out of a magazine.
Since you live in two different states and are getting married in a third state,....where do you intend to settle?

You know you Hispanic folks get down,I won't want to stand out,I think I could do a few moves.
For you and Sis.Cass my lilywhite self would dance a jig.
We'd start with 70's disco and progressively take you through the next decades ... throw in some Snoop Doggy Dog in there too.
