Considering the majority of the people on NFCF are here...it's about the same.
I would like to see the statistics (averages) at 388 days of AFF to the 388 days at NFCF. :winkgrin In statistics, it's important when correlating two events that they be as close to each other as possible. This data just gives me two different pieces of information that have no correlation. At 388 days of AFF, the numbers would be relevant.

Rhoni,
I thought you were taking a sabbatical!
I don't think that was the intent at all - - my goodness.

The Sabbatical was from the Dear Rhoni thread. I will be posting less but I thought that weaning myself might be easier than going cold turkey...but I may be wrong.
Seems like I woke up on the wrong side of the bed...since I can't get back in bed, I'm at work...I'll have to go there in my mind and get out the other side...
Sorry...will go delete.
Blessings, Rhoni

When addicts go into detox, are their doses lowered or do they go cold-turkey??? I would imagine that going cold-turkey would be easier in the long-run.... you should try it, then come back in a year and let us know....

The stats are interesting even if SoCali discounts them. For on NFCF we had a post count war to see who had the highest post count.
Then there was the Gang Of Eight who amassed 3200 posts in a single week!
All in all, compared to other forums, I am happy with the way this turned out.
Amazing one person keeps posting on the board Tina setup.

Mr. AFF Moderator,

BOOMM...in no way did I say I discounted them. Please do not put words in my mouth. What I did say was that I would like to see the statistics and averages be more aligned with each other. Possibly 54 days of AFF and 54 days of NFCF. The statistics are not "significant" unless we compare "like" things. As I said earlier...AFF and NFCF are, really, the same group of people posting as they always have. We all have kind of travelled from FCF to NFCF to AFF.

Ferd...in no way am I bitter. It is unfortunate that BOOMM has led you to believe this. I work with statistics all the time in the job that I do. When I see a comparison of 54 days of one forum, 388 days of another, and 1469 days of another...and then try to compare all of them...we are not comparing the same things. I've said...give us data of 54 days of one and 54 days of another. As someone who reads and interprets statistical data, I am always looking at like events.
Really, I am not bitter at all. In no way shape or form. I am sorry that others have inferred that.

only a little bit, but in a "Grumpy Old Men" kinda way.... you remind me of my grumpy, old neighbor who was always mean to me and my younger sister growing up.... if you sit outside in cheap lawnchairs and smoke/drink like he did, I'm going to have to buy a plane ticket to where you live and smack you aside the head.... :toofunny
I trust that smoking/drinking aren't your vices in life, so you should be alright.... in the mean-time, we'll just have to put up with each other as online-neighbors.... Hidy ho, neighbor! :happydance

I was comparing Rhoni's "posting less" comment to an addiction and threw in the "cold-turkey" comment a) to show that I honestly didn't know the technical answer and b) to sarcastically suggest she try it out and give AFF a break....
trust me, I wouldn't get that lucky.... and unless Rhoni is hiding some secret wound from previous banters, she isn't going anywhere.... then where would she get her online "fix"??? :D
I am actually spiritually ministering to her by helping build patience in her life.... :winkgrin

SoCal is correct from the perspective we are trying to compare apples to oranges.... each of the forums are composed of a different combination of posters (with their own individual posting styles), moderated differently, and may contain more/less "serious" vs "for fun" threads, etc....
no serious data analysis or statistical trending can be done as the vast differences do not make the sample data ranges replicatable (or repeatable). This thread certainly doesn't imply that AFF is better than another forum (even if everyone knows AFF is the best anyhow).... it only shows us how much "posting volume" we've put out there.... that in itself doesn't prove anything....

True, but that's easy to fix too - just multiply the numbers out at the current rate it's going and you will get an apples to apples number!

This is at the core of the statistician's protest.
By multiplying the numbers out at the current rate it's going you will still get an apples to oranges comparison.
The equivalent would be to take a three month average of church attendance using June, July, and August, and comparing it to a twelve month average attendance at the same church.
For statistics to be used for comparison the defining parameters must be the same.
The NFCF and GNC numbers include the slow months of summer when many posters find a brief window of sunny life outside the forums.

Great, another Sorry Thread.
SoCali, I did not mean to post you were bitter.
Granted the 54 day mark cannot be compared exactly, there are some distinct advantages here.
The Gang of Eight was a group who overtook Thad's Tab and while many were interested long term in Thad as a husband, the short term goal was to up post counts alone without any substance. This also drove Thad close to insanity.
And in the end, Thad is still here.
