This is a question we all ask ourselves at some point in our life. What's your answer?

Our purpose.........to enjoy fellowship with God and one another; also to be a light to
a dark world, to lend a helping hand along the way.

I believer our purpose is to be a vessel for God's Spirit in order to manifest God in and throughout the physical world, and ultimately the physical universe after the resurrection in eternity future. God is a Spirit and made man in His image to manifest Him in the physical realm. Together with the Lord we thereby rule the physical realm as God rules the spiritual realm. Our purpose is the restored purpose God had for Adam before Adam fell, which he forefeited and never did enter due to not eating the fruit of Life, the equivalent to the Holy Ghost baptism.

To exalt HIM. Period.

Matthew 6:33 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=47&chapter=6&verse=33&version=9&context=verse)
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Our purpose in life is to lovingly serve in whatever role God has for us in His workings in history.

A deeper question is, "what is your specific purpose on earth?'.

Revelation 4:11 (KJV) 11Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

I guess our reason for being created is to bring pleasure to The Creator.

One wise guy wrote:
Ecclesiastes 12:13 - 14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Why is this a bad thing ?

You do realize that if you ever reach a point that you feel your doing it all right and are where you should be without the need to go further, thats when you need to be down on yourself..

this is the whole point in striving for perfection, we can never get there, but as long as we are trying we can't go wrong.
