I don't understand your relationship among those in that group.
Francis is still UPC, though at times I wonder if he's not more of a charismatic, "globalist."

What is your problem with a "charasmatic" Globalist?
Do you define charasmatic as zero standards or what?

Exactly. That, and they deny Acts 2:38 as essential.

Essential as in three commands or essential as in two commands and a promise to all believers?
Some folks read Acts 2:38 to say.. repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ which means the preacher says the phrase for the remission of sins and ye MUST receive the Holy Ghost ( a command)
See if we keep in traditional reading.. REpent, be baptized in Jesus name (someone calling on the name of the Lord; acts 22:16) and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost ( a promise)
These signs shall follow them that believe.

How can you be so reasonable and so right on! in the Political Forum but be so wrong in the Fellowship Hall?

It's what I believe to be true. Once you've been around a bit, you start to know the trends.
Apparently Wayne Francis has Authentic Church! I had never heard of him before but looks like he has a lot going on in a very difficult area of the country to minister in.

NYC is difficult? It seems more intellectually driven but I don't know if it more difficult. Just a different mindset.

You are the only person I have ever heard say that NYC and the East Coast in general is not a difficult place for Evangelical Fundamentalist Christians to evangelize.

Timothy Keller started Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan in 1989. People said he was crazy. His church has 6,000 members. It can be done.

I'll say it. There are many very large "Evangelical Fundamentalist" churches in that region. To succeed you do have to be smart and position yourself and your team to succeed.
Preaching every week about the length of a woman's arm pit hair and demanding that everyone acknowledge that it was Satan who "buried the dinosaurs" will probably not be the way to reach very many people anywhere outside of Tennessee. But, New York metro? Preach the Gospel. It works just about everywhere.

My point exactly. IMO, our own ignorance of how to approach the culture has held Christians back. The Lord has used Keller and Redeemer in a powerful way. Keller has spurred many to start churches in large cities around the world.

I find this Thread to be a sad commentary, on the reason God is leaving the Big Churches.
My grandson and I had a similar conversation concerning politics. He was telling me of someone running that made a remark about abortion, and lost the Election.
I said, “ even though he was wrong, he was standing for what he believed. “
My Grandson said, “But if a man wants to be elected, he has to go along with the culture.”
I see the same thing happening in our churches. If a man wants a large church, then he must go along with the culture. “ Trying to use the Bible in a way that compromises with the Devil of our culture.
Peter could have had a large church, 3000 on the very first Christian sermon.
Jesus set up—NO church. He left that for the Apostles to do. And what did they do. They sent the 3,000 to set up house churches.
Soon, the large churches, will be ordered to join the One World Religion, or close their doors.
It is a Strong Delusion, that we must go along with the culture of the day. And I am not talking about preaching the man-made standards o dress codes, that are now being preached in Pentecost.
I am talking about, going back to the Foundation. If we are Apostolic, lets preach what the Apostles taught.
