I have had several PMs about this... since I've been talking about doing consumer research surveys for extra money.

Here's the list of companies to sign up.

Keep in mind that this is NOT something you can depend on as a full time income. Not all of the companies will send surveys. The more you sign up with, the better your chances are for getting paid work.

Some of these companies have been VERY good to me. :) I'll add comments in another post about which ones I've had the most work from-- but it could be totally different for you-- since each company looks for different demographic profiles.

It's been a while since I checked links on this list, so if you try one that no longer is accepting members or is a dead link... please send me the link by PM and I will remove it from this list.

For personal referrals to my absolute favorites that send me TONS of surveys for amazon GCs and cash... PM me with a first name and email address. Required for signup.

Good Grief!

Do you do surveys for ALL these companies? I do surveys for one company, and tried to get another setup. After a month of almost daily surveys and never a single completed survey, I gave up. I am glad Gmail has good spam filters- the count in the spam inbox went way up.

Sounds like you tried either globaltestmarket, testspin or zoompanel. Those three are REALLY tough in getting through the qualifying surveys.

I am signed up with most of them... but like I said, not all of them send surveys. I think demographics have a LOT to do with it. Also, the job field you list in your profile.

There are a lot of TECH type panels... that I can't get into. Some of them pay as much as $200 for projects. I need to go back through the list and put those companies in a different post so that those who aren't so technically challenged can try to get into some of those. :D

PC has been awesome for me... but as you know, we can't post links to that one. I do have access to a link.. that opens and closes occasionally to the registration form... but if I posted it-- I'd get kicked out of the company. I am NOT risking it. They are WAY Too good to me. :D Had three qualifiers/household question surveys from them yesterday--- and got offered test products on all three.

One of my other personal favs is the one I sent you an email to sign up. You gave me points in that one on the referral-- put me over the top for another amazon GC. I earn LOTS of amazon GCs through them.

Kidzeyes has been awesome for the girls to participate in-- they've now graduated to "teenseyes"

There's another kids/teen panel that is really good-- but I have to do direct referrals to it also.

I'd have to go through my web buddy journal to get all the ones listed that are the best for me... but that's gonna take a while. Haven't had time to get to it today yet.. since today is Kara's birthday-- I have some other things going on that have had my attention-- like the cake in the oven that is gonna be done any minute. :D

Last night I had a survey about KETCHUP. Yes, KETCHUP. Hunts, Heinz and walmart great value brand. I had NO idea they could ask me SOOOOOOOOOOOO many questions about Ketchup. Especially when they got into this line of questions about assigning the personality traits to the different brands of ketchup. Have you ever done one like that??? If not, you don't know what you're missing.. :D Those are VERY entertaining. :lol

PM the name of that company as I don't remember getting much else except the stupid "you are entered in our $5000 sweepstakes."

PC opened the spigot last year and I even told my bank teller about it, but again closed again and I agree with you, do not rock that boat...

RE PC.....I used to get surveys from them almost daily, but in February, I took a break from doing it due to school and I haven't received anything since. Do you think if I email them they will put me back on the list? I have the email addy for them.

That would be up to them, we do not encourage the full discussion of them here, as we don't want to jeopardize our membership..... :heeheehee

Depends if they need 83 yr old grouchy Females on their panels! :killinme

Theresa, You can make extra money by doing consumer research work for these companies. Some pay more than peanuts for your time & effort. :)

I'll post more tomorrow about this. I am exhausted, and heading to bed.

Nite y'all. :)

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to this...

You go to the website links given in the list, and read about their company. If it sounds like something you are interested in-- give them your contact information and fill out the demographic profile. Based on the profile, if you meet the profile they are looking for, they will send you surveys links by email. You do the surveys, and get paid for doing them. Some pay cash, others pay points, that build up and you can cash them in when you reach certain levels for different things. Some companies do a "cash" option, others use Amazon.com gift cards, some use merchandise. Just depends on the company. I have been doing this kind of thing since 1997-- and I really enjoy doing it--and have made quite a bit of extra money by doing the work.

Some companies send nothing. Others send quite a few surveys. It's not a full time job by any means-- just something for extra spending money. The more companies you register with, the greater your chances of getting more to do.

I had thought about doing mystery shopping but I heard that you might not get paid back the money you spend out of your pocket.
I'll check it out!

Some of the companies are legitimate. I will get around to posting some of those when I have more time.

I have one company that I am signed up with that does mystery shopping for Walmart, KMart, Exxon, Lowe's, Sally's Beauty Supply, Several restaurants, etc... they are very good about paying, as well as reimbursing the amount they ask you to spend on a purchase.

I received this email today.

~~~~~
Dear Panelist,
PineCone Research is ready to expand and we need your help.
We have immediate openings for MALE CONSUMERS 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER.
Do you know of households that meet this description that would like to join the PineCone Research Panel? If so, please FORWARD A COPY of this e-mail to each household you would like to refer so that they may click on the registration link shown below. That household should complete the registration form themselves and submit it. REMEMBER THAT ONLY ONE PERSON PER HOUSEHOLD MAY REGISTER. Multiple registrations of the same household or individual will void all registrations.
~~~~~~~~~

This is one of the very BEST survey companies out there, that pays. $5 per survey, plus many surveys lead to test products, which you will be paid to test.

I received this email today.

Dear Panelist,

PineCone Research is ready to expand and we need your help.

We have immediate openings for MALE CONSUMERS 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER.

Do you know of households that meet this description that would like to join the PineCone Research Panel? If so, please FORWARD A COPY of this e-mail to each household you would like to refer so that they may click on the registration link shown below. That household should complete the registration form themselves and submit it. REMEMBER THAT ONLY ONE PERSON PER HOUSEHOLD MAY REGISTER. Multiple registrations of the same household or individual will void all registrations.

~~~~~~~~~
This is one of the very BEST survey companies out there, that pays. $5 per survey, plus many surveys lead to test products, which you will be paid to test.
Anyone who meets this profile who would be interested in signing up-- You can PM me an email address, and I'll forward the email containing the signup link.
I used to be a member of Pine Cone Research (twice, actually), but I got so burned out! I think it was some of the long qualifying surveys that got to me - especially when I wouldn't qualify. Pine Cone is great, though! Very reliable.
I've done lots of the tech surveys, too. Some for $100+, many for $50-75. Those are LONG!
The amount of surveys I was doing was becoming a full-time job, though; and I just got tired of answering so many questions.
Kidzeyes is great, too! My kids love doing their surveys.
Thank you for your continued patience and support as we are getting more and more health related research studies. You may have already taken several other surveys this week. Please be assured this is a new study and not the “same” survey you might have already taken.
20/20 Research is currently looking for men and women to participate in a research study about the treatment of Diabetes. This discussion will take place via an online bulletin board discussion. Depending on which group you qualify for the discussions takes place Tuesday, May 7th through Monday, May 13th and Wednesday, May 14th through Tuesday, May 20th. If qualified, you will be paid $150 for your participation in this online discussion.
A bulletin board is a new, cutting-edge way to conduct market research with busy people like you. This discussion will consist of 8 people including yourself and a professional moderator. This format allows you to log in a couple of times a day at your convenience and take part in the discussion anonymously. The discussion will not take place at a “specific time” so you can log on and off at whatever times during the day or evening that work best for you! You will also be able to read the responses of others within the discussion and respond candidly.
You will need to log in 2 times per day for all 5 days of the discussion and answer all of the questions posed by the moderator. It should take approximately 30-45 minutes each day to answer the questions. You can log in from any computer with a high-speed Internet connection, whether at work, home or elsewhere.
Qualified participants will receive $150 for their complete participation!!!
Your responses will remain strictly confidential and we’d like to ask you to participate in a very brief (2-3 minutes) online screening survey to determine if you qualify for the discussion. Please click the link below or copy into your browser to begin the quick survey:
Did you know that if you're an adult woman, you are a member of the most important and powerful consumer group in the country?
Did you know that you are also one of the hardest groups to reach on a day-to-day basis?
Women do 85% of all spending in the household and tend to use personal referrals as one of the key ways they find out about products and services. How would you like to flex your "purse power" and be the one in your social circle who's always 'in the know'?
Join the One2One Network's tastemaker team! One2One Network Reps are a group of socially-connected women who educate, inform and influence their family, friends, social circles and community about cool new products and services.
By becoming a One2One Network Rep, you will be matched with brands that you're personally interested in. All you need to have is a few hours a week to commit to a project. You can incorporate many One2One Network Rep activities into your regular routine, earn a little extra 'fun' money and get some great perks while you're at it! Some of the perks may include free movie & TV screenings, music, DVDs, electronics, make-up, foods & beverages and other product samples & special offers.
If you're an energetic, motivated and socially-connected 25-54 year-old woman who's ready to enhance your 'tastemaker' status in your community, we want you on our team!
One2One Network Rep responsibilities may include:
Activate visibility campaigns
Produce product sampling opportunities
Generate online and blogger buzz
Activate word-of-mouth exposure
Initiate local PR coverage
Organize parties and in-home events
Create contesting opportunities
Just to be clear, One2One Network Reps are NOT selling products.
You are simply communicating with your social circle and community about different brands. We're not saying you can't 'sell it girl' but you'd be doing it figuratively instead of physically. What a relief, right?
So are you up for it? Join the One2One Network and tell us a little bit about yourself. We want you!
I'm signed up for 2 or 3 in Houston that pay anywhere from $50-200 but you actually have to go onsite and participate in a workshop... I used to do them for Compaq and would get to evaluate new server software or sometimes hardware (SmartStart and some other stuff) and would make some nice extra spending money that way.
I've seen several for the onsite focus groups. Unfortunately, I live in a rural area and those just don't happen here. Those usually pay big bucks though. I've done a few for Microsoft software stuff, and gotten a couple of free programs to test-- and keep after the survey was done.
We are currently conducting a very interesting study in your area. Instead of a focus group or an in-home visit for a couple of hours, we want you for six days! During this period we will work with you to create a profile of your life, your family and your wishes on an online secured blog site. So, be prepared not just for an interesting experience but one in which you may learn quite a bit about yourself. Here’s how it works.
Over the course of 6 days we need you for about 6 ½ hours. If you choose to do more that’s great. For this, you will be paid $500.
Your time will be split up as follows:
Someone from our staff will come to your home and take pictures of you and your car!
-A daily assignment on the computer as well as one, one-hour phone interview, for a total of approximately 6 1/2 hours over 6 days.
-We’ll also have you take 30 photos with your digital camera. We will tell you what to photograph, and ask you to email them that will upload them to your blog on a daily basis.
-We may also contact after the study is over with a follow-up exercise, for which you will be paid another small stipend.
Again, you will be paid a $500 check for your time,
Access to your profile: For two weeks at the end of the study, we will give you access to your profile that we’ve created with you. Most participants think that the opportunity to really think about every aspect of their lives - and then see it - is a valuable experience.
Don’t worry about the technology or the content...it’s really easy to post, and we’ll help you with that and the assignments we give you will be fun and different.
We are currently conducting a research study regarding Health Conditions and would like to invite men and women across the country to participate using an online bulletin board. A bulletin board is a new, cutting-edge way to conduct market research, allowing you to participate from your home, office, the local coffee shop or anywhere with an internet connection.
The study takes place December 8-9, 2008 and will require going online and answering questions each day at your convenience; it should take about an hour each day - in two, simple 30 minute sessions per day.
For your time and participation you will be paid $100, and as always, any information that you provide will remain strictly confidential.
This company requests that I forward the invitation email directly to those interested, so if you want a chance at this survey-- PM me your email address. Please put in subject line of PM "20-20 survey request".
No. The companies I get work from are very reputable. I rarely spend more than an hour each day doing all I get by email from all the companies. Occasionally I get a project that requires 30 minutes a day for three or four days-- but get paid VERY well for my time.
There are a lot of companies that do nothing more than send spam. I learned the hard way, and with several junk email addresses that I have stopped using due to the junk emails.
Just a recent example. I'm doing a product test for an unnamed company (but a major manufacturer of food products). I will test 4 items within 30 days. Fill out a 5 minute survey on each item-- and be paid $45.
