1.)
Backslider or Prodigal Program
This is a program designed to reach out to all of the backsliders in your area. Basically we are getting together a list of all the people who have left our churches and sending them the first month a CD with music and a card and each month after you will be sending them a card. With the list of backsliders you will want to distribute this to all the saints to use for a prayer guide. We will want to pray for each person on our list daily.

It is important for the Pastor to remind the church regularly about the need for backslider’s information.

Sunday School Seed Program
This program reaches into the homes of our Sunday School children through a packet that is created to send home as a seed. Basically we make up folders that have the following information in them and send them home to each family of the children who come to our Sunday Schools. This program is very affective and is a great way to reach the parents of our children! Here is what we suggest putting in these folders. You can get the folders at any office store; they have the pockets on the inside.
a. Music CD

b. Bible Study ( Tim’s Bible Study is free and affective)

c. Letter From Pastor

d. Church Bulletin if you have one each week

e. Church Schedule of Services or Events calendar

f. McDonalds gift cards if affordable

3.)
Court House Program
This program is very affective. You want to have a couple of people working in this program. You will want to find out the schedule at the court house for all of the court sessions i.e... Criminal, Divorce, Bankruptcy and Traffic. One thing you can be sure of when people are going through any type of situation that brings them to court they are in need of prayer and willing to receive it! If you have people who can stand outside of the court room with a name badge from your church and possibly a nice sign that says “Prayer Request Taken” they can greet people and have a nice little book to record the prayer request of the people. In most court situations you have the person going to court and also their families, this is a great way to serve your community and show your church loves people and is willing to pray for them. The person who does this should make sure to dress nice and be very friendly and compassionate. Be sure to have plenty of church cards to offer people.

Free Cooking Class
This is a program that your older or younger ladies can do. If you have ladies auxiliary they can head this class up. Many times the elderly ladies do not feel there is a program for them to reach souls, here is one they can use! You will want several women to get together and have recipe cards of simple things they can prepare. Make up flyers that are exciting and tell people your church is offering FREE COOKING CLASSES! Take these flyers to all of the battered women’s shelters, wick offices, welfare offices or anywhere single and hurting mothers will be found. In the class you will just basically have one person per week show how to prepare one recipe. You will want to show the women how to make it and then sit down with them and fellowship and eat it. The first thing you will want to do is teach them to pray before their meals! Also you will not want to preach to them, use this as a fellowship tool, have some soft Christian music playing in the background and just show your self friendly! Each week other women from your church can teach her recipe.

Learn the English Language FREE!

This program will be very helpful in the next few months. We are seeing more and more Hispanic families in our communities and we can reach them with this type of ministry. Basically you will need someone who knows Spanish. They do not have to be a teacher or professor just someone who can speak and write Spanish and English. The person will want to teach 10-15 words per week. You can advertise to every Hispanic person in your area with flyers and news print. Once you have a group of people coming make sure to love them and let them know about your church services.

Sunday School Give Away Program

This is a very affective program to build you Sunday School. You will want to have a give away at your church and make flyers that list the items you will be giving away. Make this exciting, do not use words like Acts 2:38 and One God and all the other religious terms, just advertise Blessing Our Community Through Giving. You can give away a couple of hundred dollars worth of prized and reach many souls! We have a sample flyer on our web site that you can use. (www.gowinsouls.com) You will want to hand out these flyers all across your community. Apartment complexes, stores, schools where ever you see people. One of the best gifts to give is a free bicycle. If you have 25 families in your church who will commit to giving a donation of $100.00 through a period of one year you can have a bike give away each week and be known as the church that gives away bicycles! It will not take long for the community of children to hear about that! Door hangers are very affective in this program and others to be affective in reaching tons of families! You will want to choose several apartment complexes that you can basically adopt. You will want to visit there each week, take fruit snacks or some type of free candy each week and a flyer. Stay in contact with the children! You can purchase boxes of fruit snacks from SAMS CLUB for $7.85 per box….each box has 72 packages of fruit snacks in them and are very affective in giving to people and opening up the door to talk to them.

Witnessing in Restaurants

This is an instruction sheet helping people understand how important it is to act appropriate in restaurants. Each person needs to have a copy of this! The Apostolics are not the only church that act crazy in restaurants however we look different than any other Christian so attention is drawn to us and the separation from the world is a way that people know who we are. We have to be very careful how we act in public and also use this time to be an affective witness. You can down load this at www.gowinsouls.com.

All of these programs will help you in reaching the lost. We do not believe these are the only programs that work, however we can say that they do work! Please feel free to edit them, change them or use them in any way to reach souls. I believe God has given me the wisdom to instruct many about reaching souls and I want to offer what he has taught me to each person!

Take the $50.00 to Little Caesars Pizza, get 5 large pizzas for a total of $25.00 this is plenty of pizza for like 25-30 people....then you buy 2-3 12 packs of Coke and Mountain Dew....that will cost you another $15.00 you have $10.00 left to go to wal-mart and buy a cheap basketball.

Now you have pizza, soft drinks and a basketball, take it to a park where there are a bunch of people playing ball and announce you are having a FREE PIZZA PARTY and also going to give away a Basketball! You will meet tons of new friends, eat pizza with them and witness! Be sure you take church guest registration cards with you and church cards and flyers. You will use the guest cards to get information, you tell the people it’s for the basketball give away. Once everyone signs up and you eat have one of the guest draw the guest card for the winner. Now, you have all the information from the people who were glad to give it to you so they could win a ball, your youth have had fun and ate pizza and witnessed and it only cost them $5.00!

Of course if you have more youth or chip in $10.00 per person you can obviously have a bigger party...this keeps your youth busy reaching souls and not going to local restaurants complaining and talking about how terrible life is!

He (the minister) is oneness and it will do the job no matter what a person's viewpoint of the Godhead is. People can always be taught when they surrender to Jesus. Convert them to a doctrine and they still need saved.

I didn't ask if you believed it he second person of the trinity. I asked what you thought about their method of using the 10 commandments to lead people to Christ.

Have you even bothered to check it out? they don't tell people "believe Christ is the second person of the Trinity"...they use the law to bring about the knowledge of sin so that people will WANT to be saved. For get about you denominational bias for a moment and check it out. We can use that to lead people to Acts 2:38

Sadly [you] and others don't have a clue when it comes to this. They are prejudiced from the start because these guys are Trinitarians. But Trinitarians also speak in tongues and that does not stop us from speaking in tongues.

See the WOTM is not so much about what method to get saved (they strongly believe in repentance) but is about showing people that they MUST be saved. You can tell people you love them till you are blue in the fact...you can say they got a God shaped hole in the heart that only He can fill...you can tell them how much God wants to bless them...but if they don't see why the need that or if they think their lives are just fine now, what good is it? Grace to the humble and law to the proud. I am convinced we reach less sinners because we totally bypass this principle.

I've watched a video of Ray Comfort on the street interviewing people and listened to a message of his. The method they use is effective and works, no doubt about it.

LoL Getting my family involved is easy, we are on the road traveling each week from church to church teaching soul winning and preaching revivals...so they are right in the middle of it all!

On Tuesday my son said dad, I am bored, I wish we would hurry and get to the next church so we can go reach souls. You see on Monday and Tuesday we are usually driving to our next church or we are getting ready for the next church and we cant get into the streets like every other night of the week. The Bible says: Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart

Reaching the lost is the most exciting thing we can do....last night it was 12:00 am we had a man in the van full of Saints and the man next to me must have told me 20 times how much he was loving being out on outreach trying to win people to the Lord! Once people try it and get involved its very addicting!

The old way of reaching people by knocking doors is pretty painful and fruitless in my opinion. I do not believe in knocking doors myself. I do not like to be bothered by telemarketers or people that have not been invited knocking on my door....so I just dont do it. Most people start outreach by knocking doors and its no wonder they dont like outreach. We use door hangers, they are very very affective if they have the right text printed on them...we should avoid all of the religious words and church stuff...make them exciting and ALWAYS make sure they say INVITATION we need to INVITE people to our services!

Before we were full time Evangelist we just made it our life to reach souls. I never had to do very much to get them involved they pretty much just seen how easy it is and did it. On Tuesday my son said dad, I am bored, I wish we would hurry and get to the next church so we can go reach souls. You see on Monday and Tuesday we are usually driving to our next church or we are getting ready for the next church and we cant get into the streets like every other night of the week. How To Host an Affective Block Party

There are many aspects of an affective block party outreach; I will attempt to list as many details as possible here.

One of the first things you need to do is find a suitable location. This could be one of the key elements in the success of your block party so you will want to be very prayerful in your decision. We recommend having it as close to government housing or project areas of your community. If you do not have any low income housing, you may want to look for mobile home parks.

Most of the time you can go to the management and ask permission to host a “Christian Outreach Block Party” (this is the only time it will be referred as a “Christian Outreach” Block Party. You want to help the management understand you are going to be a blessing to the facility and the tenants. You will want to offer your services in preparing the area by cleaning and grooming if necessary and also your assurance that the area used will be as clean as or cleaner than when you started. It is very important that when going before the management that you smile and show yourself friendly.

If you are planning a Block Party in a park that belongs to the city you may want to get permission from the park department. On most occasions we do not seek permission from city officials and have not had any problems, this will be left to your own discretion.

Try and find a place that is as close to large groups of people.

We do not recommend any advertising to say anything about church, revival, Acts 2:38 or any other form of religious text. We do not want to give the impression to the people that will be coming that this is a church event. A common mistake on most advertisements for church events is the words listed above. When we try and bring people to church they mostly feel they have a church so they don’t need another.

Once you have chosen a location you will want to start planning your event. This is going to be a very crucial part of the success of your event. The planning should be as detailed as possible. I will try and give you an outline to follow here:

Little Debbie Cakes are recommended.

Cans of Coke – Mountain Dew – Bottles of Water

(Key Points * Never Serve Kool-Aid * Never serve generic Drinks NAME BRAND ONLY!)

Bags of ICE

Individual Bags of Potato Chips

Ketchup & Mustard (You can get individual packages at Sams Club or food supply companies. Never serve mayonnaise.)

Napkins

Trash Bags, the larger the better

Trash Cans

Foil Pans to Place cooked food in while waiting to place in containers to serve.

Styrofoam To Go Boxes (all meals should be packed in these)

Plastic Gloves (Every server should be wearing these)

Cooking

Several Gas Grills are needed Make sure whoever is in charge of cooking items double checks to make sure tanks are full and you have one spare full tank.

Spatulas

Water Bottles for flame control

Coolers for meats

Coolers for drinks

Aluminum foil

Servers and Serving Meals

You should serve all food and drinks to guest. Make sure all servers have on plastic gloves and do not allow extra items to be given until everyone has been served. Do not allow people to come up and just take items. Make sure Saints are very clear that they do not eat until every guest has eaten.

Music

a) Old style songs are a must! I know we all want to use our style however the people that you will be reaching will not respond as well to what we play today in most churches. You need old black gospel and hymns. We have tried other styles and found that people in the world; or sinners relate to old songs that were being played as they grew up or their grandma used to play. (If you do not receive any other part of this information, this one is KEY!) If you have musicians that can play live music we suggest that.

b) Make sure you have a complete list of songs to sing. The more the better, it’s important to have a lot of music not just 3 songs.

c) Praise Singers

d) Instruments – Cords – Mics – All Sound Equipment

e) Electric Generators – Extra Electric Cords and Power Strips (You can never have to many of these)

f) It is very important to have all music, sound and singers ready and tested 45 minutes before events. Make sure all musicians are not playing their instruments except during songs….for instance you don’t want the guitar player jamming to his own tune while warming up….you want the musicians ready to roll and play when the party starts. If tuning is needed keep volume down to a minimum while tuning…this is not something you want the neighborhood to endure.

Bouncing Balloons

It is important to try and get the inflatable bouncing balloons for children. These will draw tons of children. Make sure you have people who can monitor them you will want two people at minimum. It gets wild!

Give Away Prizes

a) You want to name your Block Party “Blessing Our Community Through Giving”

b) Purchase prizes

Prizes should be at least the suggested. You may add more if needed

1 – $49.00 Kids Bicycle

10 - $10.00 Gas or Grocery Gift Cards

4 - $25.00 Wal-Mart Gift Cards

2 - $13.00 Key Chain Digital Cameras

1 - $34.00 MP3 Player

Baptism Tank

Large Horse Trough – Or Large Swimming Pool with minimum depth of 3 ft

3 Long Garden Hoses - Scan the area to see if you can use any water from the complex

Towels – You can never have to many, bring tons of them!

Extra Clothing and Robes – Have the Saints bring in as many old clothing items as possible for people to use to be baptized in.

A possible changing area – sometimes a cargo trailer or make shift changing area will work.

Chairs and Tables

Try and bring out as many chairs as possible. Also you will need a lot of tables. You need tables for the serving line, registration, sound equipment and cooking area.

Ministries

a) Puppets and children ministries if Possible should be done at some point of the service. Make the children want to come to your church to get more!

Flyers

You will want to have hundreds of flyers that advertise your service schedule and any up coming events. Make it an exciting flyer. Pass them out to every person that attends your block party.

Registration

This is one step that you must focus a lot of attention on. You will need hundreds of guest registration cards; we suggest two colors, one color for adults 12 and over and one color for children 11 and under. You will need a minimum of 6 people working registration. You will want to have rolls of tickets, each person who registers gets a ticket, and this ticket is what they will use to get their free meal. Without a ticket they will not be allowed to eat. Make it clear by announcing as much as possible through out the service that every individual needs to register and only one registration per person. You want each child and each adult to fill out a complete registration guest card. Tell them you are going to be using the registration cards to draw names for prizes. You will want to keep all registration cards and use them for follow up. Each person should receive a post card or letter from the church no less than one week from the event. Make sure you have the following request for information on your guest card:

Name – Address – Phone (home and cell) – Email – What Church they attend – Are they interested in more information on your church.

Preaching

Keep this short and very Evangelistic Basic message on Sin and Salvation

Altar call should be very strong and compelling.

I always ask that anyone that wants a free Wal-Mart card to hurry to the front, then when every person is up there I ask who wants it and hand it to them, showing the affect of I want to give it, someone wants to receive it but to receive it they must do something which is extend their hand and grab it! Then I tell them Jesus has died for us but we must do our part to receive our salvation.

Then it is important to explain salvation and baptism.

Clean Up Crew

It is important to announce through out the service that you would appreciate any trash to be placed in trash cans. You will want to have as many cans as possible on hand. Make sure you have a complete crew to canvas the area and keep area extremely clean after event. Also this crew may assist in packing chairs, tables, sound equipment and instruments.

One very important thing you will need to do is have a meeting with all workers and saints before heading out to your event. In your meeting cover all areas, double check and make sure you have all items on your list.

Talk to everyone and let them know it is crucial that they do not talk to each other during this block party unless it is relative to issues of service. Let them know they MUST greet every person and make them feel very welcome to this party. NEVER leave sinners standing by their self….every person in your church should be talking to sinners!

Advertising for Event

You should make sure to pass out flyers for at least 3 days leading up to your block party in the surrounding areas. Also you will want to place door hangers on every door and apartment possible within a 2 mile radius.

On the day of the event we usually use a megaphone and drive around the area telling people about our free block party and letting them know what time it will start. This is recommended to be done from 1-2 hours before event.

You may also want to place an ad in the local news paper if possible.

Door hangers can be purchased at www.outreach.com you will need as many as possible, you can determine how many apartments and houses are in the area and order accordingly.

Appointing Leaders of each portion of this event

You will want to appoint several leaders over each portion of this event, i.e.…cooks, music, registration, food, ministry, clean up etc…

Each leader should have a clear list of responsibilities and be held accountable throughout the entire planning session. It is very important that you express how important it is to never assume someone has something taken care of as a leader, make sure each person actually knows for fact that the issues are resolved.

Each leader should have several other people working with them to complete each task.

Have tag in sessions leading up to the event double checking every detail with each leader.

It seems the majority came for the loaves and the fishes. Statistically we found that those who stay were won through personal evangelism and individual relationships. A few home studies, nothing really "organized".

It's really discouraged us from attempting larger program in the future. Any idea where we might have gone wrong with the larger effort?

Retention is always something important. Unfortunately it has become one of the poor excuses we here why people do not win souls. People claim things like why go get them if they wont stay! Makes no sense to me! I believe there is a way to reach and keep converts!

We teach people that in the natural life the statistics show that if a new baby is left alone with out care for 3 days it will die. In the spiritual the same seems to ring true.

If a new convert is born again we teach that that new baby needs to be contacted at least 3 times in the first 3 days. The baby needs way more than a letter from the pastor to survive.

We suggest that each time a baby is born into the kingdom there would be someone standing by ready to spiritually adopt this baby. Adoption does not mean we are going to pay their bills and support them financially but we are going to care for them and help raise them. We are going to get them into a home Bible study right away and have the first lesson within 3 days if possible. We also suggest that the new baby be contacted with a personal visit within 24 hours and again in 48 hours, the latter bringing some type of cookies or desert.

Once the Home Bible studies starts making sure the new convert is involved in as many activities as possible is a must. You will want to let them know of any activities your church is having and make sure they come!

One thing for sure we cannot just host a service and expect people to come back if we do not follow up on them! The Bible says in all labor there is profit….the key word is LABOR or translated WORK!

Each time we baptize someone we also give them a small booklet that I have created that explains what a new convert needs to do to stay solid in living for God. We actually walk them through each step. You can view this booklet free on our web site. The booklet is called the New Birth and Beyond.
