Would You Go Back To NFCF?

I for one probaly would not..... Apostolic Friends has been great and I'm satisfied here. I think that NFCF were it to open back up would not be as successful as it was in it's day.

I wasn't really a part of NFCF. I participated alot on the GNC while the NFCF was going. I really didn't hear about the NFCF until its last few days.

New members may register as a member of this discussion board by clicking on the "Register" link and completing and submitting the brief form as per the instructions.

The Apostolic Friends Forum is compliant with COPPA, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. Users under the age of 13 are required to submit parental consent by fax or mail prior to being allowed into the Apostolic Friend Forum. Additionally, the Apostolic Friend Forum is geared toward Adults.

Members are required to keep their account updated with their correct email address. E-mail addresses that come back undeliverable at any time will result in that account being deleted. Member accounts that are not used will be deleted periodically.

Privacy of Posters
As Privacy is an important issue to many posters on Apostolic Friend Forum, let it be understood that anyone that maliciously reveals anothers private information will be banned.

Rules of Conduct
This discussion board is for Apostolic Pentecostal Christians who believe that the Bible, in it's entirety, is the word of God, is without error, and that it is completely relevant today. We welcome and encourage visitors of other faiths to post and ask sincere questions in their honest search to learn more of our faith and about our wonderful Lord, Savior, and God whose name is Jesus Christ. We do not, however, give place for the tearing down, or destruction of, the christian faith in any form. The propagation of atheism is not welcome here. No tearing down of Ministers.

We do not allow any rebuking, hatefulness, name calling, or verbal attacks by any person or group of people, toward any person or group of people. Content that is unseemly, using bad language or any form of insinuating bad language (i.e. one letter and ****), name calling, or offensive slang is not permitted. Debate is encouraged, bad attitudes are not.

This administration knows that God's word allows for rebuking under certain conditions, but because of the lack of understanding by some,as well as the differing views by a multitude of readers here, and forthe sake of peace, we will not permit it under any circumstances.

Self Moderated Board & Banning Penalties For Unruly Posters
The Apostolic Friend Forum is a self-moderated discussion board. If you feel that a user is not in compliance with the rules of this board please use the report button to report inappropriate posts, or send a private message to an admin. The admin will make a determination to allow the post, remove the post and warn the user, or immediately remove the user.

Admin may remove any offensive post, or ban any members at the sole discretion of the admin on duty at that time. Normally you will receive a warning if such occurs. In the event a thread is closed, or a person is banned, admin will review the situation, and either agree to uphold the ban, or reinstate the poster. If you are banned you will not have the ability to post in the forums. You will receive no warning before you are banned. It is your responsibility to have read the rules and to know them. If you break them it will be assumed that at the time you knew you were breaking them. With the exception of those that are just "out of control", we will follow the following rules in banned members:

First Offense: 7 day ban
Second Offense: 1 month ban
Third Offense: 6 months
Fourth Offense: Permanent ban

If a banned poster does not respect the ban and returns under another nick or IP, the ban will automatically be extended, or possibly be made permanent. Any member who is banned can petition Admin via email to ask for reinstatement prior to the ban being lifted. Admin will review this and make their decision.

Open Proxies
To prevent spammers and or banned trouble makers returning to the forum under a new nick all open proxy servers may be subject to immediate banning and removal of the user. In other words you must NOT be going through someone elses server to hide your real IP address.

What to do if you have a problem with an Admin action
If you have a question about a ban, or any action of an Admin, discuss it in PM or Email with Admin. Openly questioning or defying the Admins over a banning or other Admin actions will result in a ban. All actions viewed as seditious or anarchistic will result in a banning as well. Remember, the Admins are here to help make the board run smoothly and need your cooperation.

Doctrinal Positions
On matters of doctrine, feel free to post your views supported with scripture. It is okay to disagree, just let the conversation flow, letting go of the need to prove yourself right. Remember, the truth needs no defense, so let go of your fleshy pride and ego. Use your anonymity to humble yourself and learn. There is no injury in this, only benefit. We can all learn from each other. If the issue is an important one and all involved are truly seeking truth, then prayerful discussion and study of God's word will reveal it.

There is no reason to bring NFCF back.

We are all over here that want to be here and all that would do is weaken this forum.

If AFF were not here then there would be a need.

Vicki has a lot going on and doesn't need the hassle either and NFCF was never something that her husband was largely behind either (or at least toward the end)

What's done is done IMO.

No disrespect whatsoever to Vicki. She did a great thing for us in making NFCF. We had no idea FCF was about to go away forever but NFCF was there for us.

AFF is now doing the same thing.

But... I would never say I would not post there. That would demonstrate some sort of animosity toward NFCF and there is certainly not one ounce of animosity there.

I can't say that I would not post there, but I am already monitoring too many forums as it is... I have 6 open right now (only 2 religious-based) and several more that I visit from time to time... at some point I get too spread out across the various forums so I have to pick and choose which ones to participate in.

I will likely be an occassional lurker at any new NFCF (NNFCF?).

I never registered during its first incarnation because IMO, it was saturated with human politic. IMO, it was often driven by a desire to be immersed in the "matters of men".

Certainly AFF has ample evidence of professing born-again humans seeking a personal stage, but rather than saturation, ego-sourced motive for participation is more like a morning "dew" one might experience in Houston.

I openly confess that I am really more of a GNC kind-of-poster; less drama, more entreating as brethren.

It seems plausible that after his thoughtfully purposed sabattical from DB posting, he will re-enter and revisit the ROI of such activity at the site that has such a voluminous archive of his own writings.

I am genuinely hopeful that the former NFCF will return. It will provide a possible contrast to see what topical focus (foci ?) draw which posters.

For example;
One site may provide everything you need to know about speedo-wearing, TV-in-RV watchers and the other site could discuss how each of us must answer to our own master. :rooting

AFF is a way better forum than nFCF ever dreamed of being.

nFCF was born out of spite and controversy and thus contained such right down to the bitter end.

AFF was a response to, and a result of, that, but in a completely different spirit and under better circumstances than we saw prior to.

I believe that we as a group have learned from both FCF and nFCF, and as a result have something going here. I think that even the name of the forum itself is fitting and conducive.

Would I post there, I doubt it.

I for one probaly would not..... Apostolic Friends has been great and I'm satisfied here. I think that NFCF were it to open back up would not be as successful as it was in it's day.

But some may feel different...

What would you do?

I would join any forum that has the same interests that do, and NFCF is one of them. I have been, and will always be a faithful member of all those that will put up with me and my somewhat, liberal opinions.
