It was decided to have all the 'blog' type threads here so they could be found more easily. Thad's Tab, Gabby's and C2C are all 'community' blog based threads.
I thought it was a great idea. I always like to check in on everyone's blog threads, but sometimes it's hard to find them. And I don't usually make a point of digging around for them. You know the old phrase, 'out of sight, out of mind'. :D
I know it's not what we're used to, but I'd like to see everyone give this a chance.

But the Canadian thread isn't a blog. All kind of discussion takes place on this thread. It's like a "general discussion" thread for Canadians.
It thought a blog is where one person basically is keeping a diary of their thoughts and activities. The Canadian thread has never been that. It's always been in the General Discussion area.
At one time it pretty much stayed on page 1 or 2 of General Discussion.
I'm only one voice. Perhaps more will chime in. Definitely only need one Canadian thread though.

I agree, I think the Canadian thread, along with TT, and Gabby's are all a 'general discussion' type thread based on a community of dedicated posters. They each have their own 'following' of posters.
Mostly they are made up of those dedicated posters who are basically just yakking and sharing...general discussion.
And I think it's great that they have their own area to call their own. Cafe Blog-a-bit isn't just about blogs, it's more of a type of coffeehouse. You come, you sit, you share, you yak, you relax. :D

We have sooooo many first time visitors coming, and I mean "unchurched!!!"
PLEASE PRAY FOR US!!!
You would have been blown away by the intercession that concluded our powerful Sunday of services as we prayed for YX.
There are kids coming from Quebec and Ontario...if there is any way to even steal away for a service you would do yourself and any young person a favour.
We haved asked God for 20 to receive the Holy Ghost this month and we believe this will occur.
This is going to be the best YX ever and we have had some amazing times, praise God!
Please pray for Capital Community Church, Fredericton, NB Canada for Youth X-Plosion '07 this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with Youth Pastor Tim Rutledge of P.O.A.

It's lost here.
Just a thought - - the Candian thread wasn't always on the first or even the second page of the General Discussion and no one every had trouble finding it.
If someone does a search, it'll show up and then they'll know where it is.
Before we opened up, it was decided that all these type threads would be easier to locate in one area instead of throughout the Fellowship Hall.
Just something new and with some time, all will adjust.
Thanks!

Listened to an intersting tape today of one of our resident canadian posters preached way back in 1992.Preached on "Don't Let The Devil Steal From You" song two songs I never heard before. One was along the lines was "I didn't know what happy was till I met Jesus" and the other a more slower song about how God's eyes are always upon us watching each step we take."
Anyone wanna guess who it was?

Anyone wanna guess who it was?I used to think I was happy,
Thought I had such joy and bliss
But then Jesus came and took my sins all away
And now I really know what true joy is.
Because I found Jesus, He's the Great Joy Giver!
You may think that you're happy but I know that you'll never
Find joy like the joy that Jesus gives when He comes into your life to live.
He's got rivers of blessing that never run dry
Life eternal waiting in the sky
You may search everywhere but nothing compares
To the joy that Jesus gives.
------------------
Sometimes it seems God's a million miles away
Too busy for a creature such as I
And then I think how he sees each sparrow fall
I call on Him and find that He is nigh!
The eyes of Jesus fall upon each footstep that I take
His ears are always open when I call
His hand is always there to help me lift my heavy load
His heart is broken every time I stray

It was so nice to hear from her! She has always been one of my favorite minister's wives back home. Such a lady! Always a lady! And so faithful. I just love her!
Definitely plan to visit them when we're home either in the Summer or Fall. We haven't decided yet when we're going.
It's wonderful to be around people you feel "safe" with, you know? She was always one of those women with me. And Sis. Beesley too of course.
I remember all those preachers' conferences I went to .....sitting in on the business sessions. I usually always sat with Sis. Beesley, and Sis Urquhart was usually always there - she'd be crocheting or knitting during the business sessions! :) Such a beautiful lady!

She was telling me that last year Murray turned 86 and that much of that Fall he helped a neighbor build a 2 story barn style garage for a sail boat. At 86! :)
I'm just so sorry about the stroke and how it's affected him. And apparently he hasn't been well lately - has other issues he's dealing with physically as well. When we come home this summer/fall, we're definitely going to drop by and visit.
It's so nice to get letters like this knowing that we're missed and thought of and prayed for. She told me that she felt so impressed to pray for me - that I'd been on her mind. It's so reassuring to know that people care! :)

Bro. Urguhart reminds me of my dad, who lived to be 95, but when he was in his early 80's he was working alongside his pastor who was also a mason, mixing cement and carrying bricks and cement up ladders.
The Urguharts are among the list of people in my life who I consider quality people with true Christian integrity. They have always inspired me and been a great encouragement to us through the years.
We pray that he recovers and gets to enjoy, along with his lovely wife that new home of theirs for years to come.

June 24th in Quebec is like July 1st in the rest of Canada. It is celebrated big time .It is called "La fete de Saint Jean Baptiste".(John the Baptist Birthday)They call it their "fete nationale" but in reality it is their province's province day just like we have a New Brunswick day in August. Those who are really into it will have a bon fire in their back yard which they call "le feu du Saint Jean Baptiste"
John the Baptist's fire.In Quebec City each year they have a huge bon fire on the plains of Abraham to commemorate this special day.:grampa
