View Full Version : From the heart of me...
Yes, there is no question about it...I am sentimental!! Can't help it and in that I am just like my daddy.
Anyway, today as I was toiling and working my little fingers to the bone, this thought dropped in my heart. Now, for those who don't go in for the sentimental/love in a bottle posting, I won't be offended if you don't continue reading...won't even know it as a matter of fact. :winkgrin
But for those who will continue, this post is for you....in appreciation for all the things you do and are.
Sometimes when we read these kind of posts, we feel an obligation to respond in kind...I assure you, this is not necessary.
I simply want to say this...maybe no one has told you today, but you are important...you are important to God and to me...

Thank you for your generosity and friendship...

For whatever reasons, your participation here of late seems to not be as frequent as it once was, but I want YOU to know how much your words and spirit mean to the men and women on this forum, and to me in particular.
Sister C, your wit and good common sense has made me smile more than once and that is of such importance in this hour. The Church needs more women like you, girl...
And Elder, what can I say that will adequately express how much your words have ministered to me?! Men who display true godly character are treasures indeed and worthy of mention and honor.
May God continue to bless you both and your ministry...
Sherri
Be encouraged this day that God sees all that you and Elder C have done for Kingdom sake and is rewarding and will continue to reward accordingly.
Man won't understand...they will say, "How can this be?!" But the all seeing and all knowing God of glory knows. It is He who will open and close doors...it is He who will bring you before great men.
I appreciate you, girl...thank you for your gentle spirit...
More to come...

The Almighty does not call that He does not equip, and certainly He has prepared and equipped you for this task.
Thank you, Felicity, for your never ending encouragment in my writing and in a zillion other areas. You listen and pray and give wise counsel and are a real friend.

My appreciation for you both increases moment by moment...

When God bestowed gentleness in a woman, He gave you more than your share. There is never a time that you do not speak peace and display the beauty of holiness in your actions and spirit.
When I grow up, may I be half the woman of God you are. God bless and protect you as you work for Him...

There is a song that I love, and one portion in particular...
When the world closes in and presses me
I run to Jesus, down on my knees
No sweeter voice I've ever heard
When God whispers in my heart
May the gentle and familiar voice of our loving heavenly Father whisper encouragment and peace to you tonight.
Appreciate your spirit, girl...

Barb,
You bring tears to my eyes, again, Barb! If you could know how fervently His Word burns so deep. I'm reminded of this portion of the song,
"The Alabaster Box" -
Don't be angry if I wash His feet with my tears
And dry them with my hair
You weren't there-the night He found me
You did not feel what I felt
When He wrapped His loving arms around me
And you don't know the cost of my praise
I can't forget
The way life used to be
I was a prisoner
To the sins that had me bound
I spent my days
Poured my life-without measure
Into a little treasure box
I thought I had found
Until the day-when Jesus came to me
And healed my soul
With the wonders of-His love
So now I'm giving back to Him
All the praise He's worthy of
I've been forgiven
And that's why
I love Him so much
Don't be put off by my light hearted bantering. I become intensely wrapped up in the issue of church, my family, community and life. It takes off the edge for me and some days I just need it. lol!
I love you and appreciate your kind words! :friend

You remind me so much of a friend who writes like you do. She is an encourager also and writes things like this to people who she loves. She is not in my life at the moment.
You've probably read the little thing about people being in your life for a season and she is not there right now. I've also always heard the little adage that when one door closes another one opens. I am glad that He opened the door to our online friendship. You have such a sweet spirit. As Sherri said, I hope we get to meet someday. I will always remember that you somehow "put your hips to bed"!! LOL! I've never figured that one out.
While I was at work today, this post, in particular the bolded portion was with me, ministering to my spirit.
In Colossians 2:2, Paul states, "That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ."
The Living Bible reads, "This is what I have asked of God for you: that you will be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love, and that you will have the rich experience of knowing Christ with real certainty and clear understanding."
What is it that knits the hearts of God's people together?! What is the tie of love and respect that binds, though we have not met face to face?!
It is the grace of God abounding in our hearts...it is the Word and the Name and the Blood of the Redeemer.
It is the peace that passes all understanding which allows us to walk hand in hand with the household of faith.
Not relying on what we think or opinion or agenda...not reaching for status or applause, we are free to love and be loved by God's wonderful people.
When our hearts are knit together, we are not seeking our own, but that which will encourage and comfort the other.
This is God's Body...His building...His Church that He purchased with His own Blood.
May heaven help us to be the Church He intended we be...holy, called out and set apart, with hearts knit together in the love of Christ...bound with chains of godly love that the enemy cannot penetrate. :praying
Know what I love?!
I love those who remember with grateful hearts the folk who brought them over...
I love those who show respect for the heritage and Word that was deposited into their spirits...
I love those who are not ashamed to take a moment and express their love and appreciation for the good and the bad, understanding that it's all for our making...
And, I love those who are called by the Name of the Lord, regardless of organizational affiliation.
I just love the people of God!!
Have a great day y'all... :choir

Dearest Barb,
My, you are being sentimental today, but I am right there with you. You know...it was easy to love you. You are the most generous and caring person.
Any misunderstandings we might have had is when we were triangulated into other's issues and not our own. I try to compartmentalize my relationships with others. My feelings for you are not dependent on whether or not you agree with me, or whether or not we agree about friends and family...it is about our relationship.
You have always been honest and I can tell you anything knowing you will keep my confidence, and I hope you feel the same. You know I am not perfect, but love me anyway.
I am glad we connected, and I keep the things which are dear to my heart...close. The things I see from another perspective than you...I flush. It doesn't matter in the overall scheme of things.
You are appreciated, loved, and respected by me.

Now, Pianoguy...did I say "twisted attempt?!" :winkgrin
Seriously, the Scripture says that a merry heart (laughter, joy, happiness) is like medicine. Laughter can bring relief and healing...it brings about a release in the spirit of a person.
So keep on keeping on in the ministry to which God has called you...
...the Scripture says that a merry heart (laughter, joy, happiness) is like medicine. Laughter can bring relief and healing...it brings about a release in the spirit of a person.
I was just thinking about this post to Pianoman, and the word peace dropped in my spirit.
There is a peace that we experience as believers, part and parcel with being Sanctified...it is termed in Scripture 'the Fruit of the Spirit'. If we are Spirit filled, it should be resident in our earthen vessel...amen?!
But how often have we been trumped by the enemy, duped into allowing circumstance and issues to rob us of our peace?!
This night I pray that God's chosen ones walk in the peace that passes ALL understanding...
Whatever situation or thought or desire or issue or sickness or peril or sword is drawing us away from the peace of God, may we rest in Him this night...
May we find rest in His will and contentment in knowing He sees where we are...
When we take our rest tonight, may we sleep well in the peace of the Almighty, rising to walk in the newness of life...
This is my prayer for you, in Jesus Name...Amen!!

What a sweet and gentle soul you are!! I shall forever remember your words to me in a card this past January. You wrote...
"This first day of the New Year, you have been visiting me--in my thoughts and prayers." You had no way of knowing I needed those words...what an awesome God we serve!! He knew and directed you to the point of need.
Though we have never met face to face, your kindness and thoughtfulness has endeared you to me.
My sincerest prayer for you is continued comfort and strength...may each day bring you joy and peace in His presence.

May God bless you in your diligence in working for the Kingdom.
In the final analysis, the defining result of our labor will not be fame or fortune or how well we were received by the spiritually elite...it will be in the number of souls which were snatched from the hand of the enemy.
Appreciate you both...

We don't always know why events happen in our lives. Sometimes it's the enemy at work and sometimes it's the hand of the Almighty...and sometimes it's just life.
One thing is for certain...God is there in the midst of it all, doing His thing, as only He can. He provides the answers and calms the storm with the gentle wave of His hand...speaking peace like none other He soothes the trouble mind.
You are blessed and precious to the Lord, girl, and to all here...
Barb,
Thaks for the kind words. I also share an appreciation for most of the posters here and those that I don't serve a purpose in that they give me something to take my frustrations out on besides my wife and dogs!

This morning this Word dropped in my spirit...
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men,
especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
(Galatians 6:10).
Let us take the opportunity today, as the Church Mothers used to say, "while the blood is yet running warm in our veins," to express goodness and grace...especially to those who are in the household of faith.
This thread is not mine alone...if someone has blessed you or you appreciate them in a special way, allow your heart to lead you this day.
I have discovered that the blessing we send forth comes back to us in ways we would never imagine.
Love you all today...have a good day with the Lord!!

My oldest online friend...not oldest in age, but oldest as in first. :winkgrin
When we met back at the old farm, we soon found that we had connections through families, and in it we formed a bond that misunderstanding and issues cannot dissolve.

Just wanted to bump this and say that it has been wonderful having CS posting the last day or so.
I understand the need to pull back some, and the thought to do so has once again crossed my mind, but it is sure nice hearing your 'voice', Elder...

Yes it is, Barb. He is missed when he's not posting. I enjoy posting with his lovely wife too!

Yes amen, tam...
I was sitting here thinking how much I appreciate God's people and love and pray for y'all...it makes me weep to think about it.
All I ever want to do or want to be is a blessing and encouragement. God forbid that someone is going through or needs a word and I spout off about this or that and end up doing damage to someone's spirit. Heaven help me if I can't extend kindness when someone is in need.
Who am I to think that I am better than anyone else or their situation could never be mine?!
These words tonight should not indicate that I am never frustrated or ticked over issues and things, but my spirit should never be where I am no earthly good.
May the love of Christ always come from these lips and kindness forever be my song...

Okay Barb, This is the first I've seen in this thread, and I must admit that there isn't anything wrong with being a bit sappy (I truly appreciate sappiness, LOL) What a wonderful way for you to show love and encouragement, it would seem that you have enough of that. God bless you real good sis!

Thank you, Bro. E...I gladly receive your blessing...
It has been on my mind for days to do this... :)

I appreciate your continual kindness to me...your lovely card many months ago and your thoughtful ways are etched in my memory bank.
God has great things in store for you, Rendagirl...be encouraged and hold on to what you know is right.

When I think of y'all, I see blessings and favor abounding. It is not by chance that you are where you are...before the foundation of time, God saw you and knew you would have a heart for His people.
The Almighty does not call that He does not equip, and certainly He has prepared and equipped you for this task.
Thank you, Felicity, for your never ending encouragment in my writing and in a zillion other areas. You listen and pray and give wise counsel and are a real friend.
And TB, I appreciate your soundness in the Word. You are a blessing to my questioning mind.
My appreciation for you both increases moment by moment...
More to come...

Y'all don't post much, but when you do, the posts are real and thought provoking.
May God bless you in your diligence in working for the Kingdom.
In the final analysis, the defining result of our labor will not be fame or fortune or how well we were received by the spiritually elite...it will be in the number of souls which were snatched from the hand of the enemy.
Appreciate you both...
The word encourage means to instill courage...simple, huh?!
Well today may I encourage your hearts with these words?!
You are loved!!
You are appreciated!!
You are prayed for!!
I don't have time to bump what I previously posted about everyone, but please know this is for you, too.
And if you weren't mentioned before, charge it to my hurried life and not my heart.
God bless the Saints of God everywhere...have a great day!! :hug3

I have lumped you two knuckleheads together because y'all are like twins...what one doesn't think of, the other will!!
But know...please know that your brand of humor is appreciated and needed. As well, your love of God and His people rings loud and clear.
Thank you both for all that you add to this board...
Need to Stop now 'cause the old girl is getting sappy, but will add more soon.
Love you all...:choir

Have you encouraged someone today?! :friend
It is my prayer that these words encourage someone's heart tonight...
You can get up again...you can run again!!
Why Not Trust God Again?
When life seems cruel and so unfair
With each new day it seems a greater problem's waiting there
For each step forward I take
Seems I get pushed two steps behind
Don't think I'm going to make it sometimes
Don't think my nerves can take it this time
As I'm about to call it quits a solution comes to mind
Why not trust God again
I know that He can do it
If I pray again, believe again
I know my God will work it for my good again
I know that He will see me through it all
If I trust in God again
Is there a mountain standing in your way
Is there a loved one you're worried about today
Is there a blessing you desire that seems intangible
Instead of giving up the fight
Cling to faith with all your might
The One who's seen you through before is still able
Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus
Just to take Him at his word
Why not trust God again
I know that He can do it
If I pray again, believe again
I know my God will work it for my good again
I know that He will see me through it all
If I trust in God again
I will...I will...I will trust in God again
Please forgive me for bumping this again this morning, but I just feel to do so.
We come to these forums for a variety of reasons, and though the banter is often light and easy, we never really know what is happening with the people on the other side of our monitor.
Some have real needs and serious issues, and it is for this reason that I feel to encourage your heart today, reminding you that God is here...:hug3
