What are your favorite music CD's by Oneness Pentecostal artists from the last year or so?

Name the artist, CD title, favorite songs on the CD, style of music, and why you like them.

None of the above.

Most of it is low quality, low budget garbage.I have heard the rough mix of the new M. Mangun cd which was recorded with a symphony, believe me when I say it is neither low budget NOR garbage...stay tuned.:)

Okay, okay, I overreacted people!

I like a few of the bible college CD's but that's about it.

The only thing of MM's I've ever really enjoyed is her live rendition of "Watergrave". Now I could listen to that all day long!

Gentlemen (using that term loosely),

Check out this website and music of these Apostolic kids from Chicago, nephews of Jorge and Joel Montes (Joel's married to Linda Quiroz).

Kewl.

About 3 or 4 years ago, while I was visiting Jorge in Chicago, they approached me to lament that their pastor and ministers were very critical of their music. I suggested that next time they were subjected to that, that they sit their elders down, and play that old wonderful song, "Que lindo es mi Cristo" (How Beautiful is my Christ). After the tears of remembrace flowed and the hands were raised, stop the music, and inform the brothers in nostalgic rapture that the rhythm is BOLERO, the most carnal and worldly music of its era, the 1930-40s; it was of Afro-Cuban derivation, and took Mexico by storm through radio and famous guitar trios like Los Panchos. Bolero also invaded the Apostolic church. "Que lindo es mi Cristo" is one of the most erotic love songs to God (think Song of Solomon set to romantic music). Now, we remember that tune as an old sacred hymn.

Prophets without honor in their own country, the guys are now touring in Central America. Go figure.

Jon and Joe, give them some radio play.

Another great Apostolic Rock en Espan~ol group is Rojo, progeny of the Espinosa (Culiacan, Sinaloa) and Moreno (Tijuana/Tucson) clans. Amazing stuff.

Did I hear you correctly? Rojo is apostolic? They get regular radio play on christian radio out here in PR. Pretty good stuff, up there with Tercer Cielo, Marcos Yaroide, J.A. Romero and Jon Montalban.

What a coincidence you ask this! Just tonight while I was in a restaurant eating my cell phone rang and it was Mark and Lori Carouthers daughter!

Mark was one of my best friends in Bible College and we were in each others weddings. Mark and Lori will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary next Monday.

They are exUPC and are doing the music at a Cruisematic church in the Dallas area. I believe the pastor came out of one of the major Southern Baptist churches in the Dallas area after he was baptized in the Holy Spirit and spoke with tongues.

I know that they recently recorded a music project at their church but don't have any details. I am sure it is out by now.

*EDIT* Here is the link to the church website wher Mark and Lori do the music;

http://www.fellowshipofjoy.com/

They have a new live recording advertised for sale there.

Oh, wait. . . Apostolic, right? Well, I did like the latest IBC project. I know some do, some don't but I did. My favorites are: He Knows, The Revelation Song, Jesus is the Reason Why I Sing and Broken. I usually have those 4 on repeat if I listen to it my car. I don't know if they have any CD's out, but we recently had the choir from Heath OH at our church and I thoroughly enjoyed them! It wasn't the first time I'd seen them but it had been a while and I was reminded how much I like them. They did awesome.

Jonny Lang's "Turn Around". It might be to progressive for you ultra cons but this guy is great. Met him last fall and talked about what God was doing in his life and the power of the Holy Ghost. His other cds are pretty good too, they are just before he became born again.
