View Full Version : How do you like your eggs?

How do you like your eggs? For me it depends on which meal. If I am eating breakfast, then I like them scrambled or boiled. If I am eating a fried egg sandwich, then I want the yolk completely cooked. If I am eating eggs on top of white rice, I like them fried with the yolk soft and runny. How about you?

I love egg omelets myself. My favorite and the one my family likes for me to cook for them is eggs, red peppers, broccoli florets, medium salsa, and cheese. It's delicious!

If eating just an egg I prefer, fried over easy.

Oh, and I don't do boiled unless they are diced in salad...can't stand deviled eggs or cold egg salad. :nah

I don't care for scrambled eggs. I think I used to like them with Ketchup when I was a little girl. :D

Hard boiled is fine, but they are soooo dry!

I like them cooked - hard or soft- in an iron skillet with a tab bit of butter. No salt or pepper and with oatmeal or a banana.

I really like to saute some purple onion, 4-6 fresh sliced jalapeños, and red bell pepper in a little Olive Oil. Add a couple of eggs to that topped with a slice of Swiss cheese and wrapped in a corn tortilla - no salt or pepper. I might add that I have to set a glass of very cold water next to my plate because it burns your mouth off and I love it hot!!!!

My husband uses bacon and bacon is bad!!!! :thwak Oops! Sorry, baby! :kiss He's also a weenie and can't eat the jalapeños? :heeheehee

I love them sunny side up and covered in Tabasco sauce with Tony Chachere sprinkled on top. Or my wife makes me one of her omelets with jalapeños, and turkey sausage, green and red peppers, chives and I top it off with ketchup and Dave's Insanity hot sauce.

I love hot sauce and hot pepper. My daughters and I love Tabasco (the girls love the green and I the traditional red) and Tony Chachere. Every time I have a preacher stay with us I have them try the Tony's and I buy them their own can. I also will have them try one of my hottest sauces, and if I know the Brother or Sister isn't use to hot sauce I won't ask them to try it out. We had young newlyweds who are missionaries over our house for dinner and the husband tried some of my hottest sauce, then who gave some to his new bride, and it didn't sit well with her. I was pretty sad about that, and from that day onward I will never let someone try hot sauce if they’re not use to hot chilies. :)

My daughter did that when she was about 2. I was making some chiltepins for my father. She started running about gagging. They are very hot! I gave her some warm tea and it stopped it right away.

Read that somewhere and tried it with a jalapeno. It works!

Eggs! I like them most every way. Just make sure the white part is cooked but the yolks are soft/runny.

Scrambled easy

Boiled soft

Fried in a little butter or Pam or bacon fat "easy"

Love omelettes, especially the way TB makes them with salsa, little bit of mushrooms, peppers, ham, etc. and then with cheddar or jack cheese grated over the top and melted. Yum!

I had to drive back from San Antonio a couple of months ago - very late! I knew if I pulled into Whataburger and purchased a Coke I would be up all night and make it home.

My husband asked how long it took me to get home. Hehehehehehe!

He said, 'YOU COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED DRIVING THAT FAST."

"Well, I could have been killed if I feel asleep, too!"

:killinme

Texas highways are the longest highways in the world!!! lol! The back roads are even longer and boring. Glad I didn't hit a cow on the way!

Here we have to worry about hitting deer!

Yum!

Poached! Love poached eggs. I have one of those little pans with the egg cups and they come out perfect as long as they're cooked 'easy'.

I think this is the only one I can say ditto on. :)

PO & Felicity have onions with your eggs???

Since I married Keith I RARELY eat onions (save in salsa)--and I was raised and put them in everything growing up.

Whats weird is now that I hardly eat them, I sure notice them when they are present and they are sooo strong tasting now.

BTW, if you served them to me I would eat them, Keith on the other hand!:D

If you are ever in Portland, Maine and you love breakfast meals, make sure you check out Eggspectation near the Maine Mall. They have a fabulous menu! I ate there on my way to Boston from NB in July. Of course they have other items on the menu besides breakfast. It's a neat place to visit.

But I've grown to be able to eat yellow onions if they're cooked well. I like them best when they've caramelized.

White (Spanish) onions are milder and I can handle them cooked too. There's a restaurant back home that uses the Spanish onions in their stir frys and they're wonderful because they soften and I like the texture.

Red onion I like cooked and don't mind them added raw to salads if they're sliced really thin.

I love green onion.

Fried Medium with the yoke broke and not too buttery...
