View Full Version : Computer Is Quircky
My computer is acting strange.
When I am not at my computer it goes into power saving mode.
I had an incident that made me thought it was more than that.
I noticed it was in power saving mode, so to wake it up I moved the mouse & tried touching the key.
A message came up on my monitor that said no signal.
I tried rebooting it. Upon rebooting, still nothing, upon the second reboot it finally worked.
Any ideas as to why? I recently transfered ten gigs of files over.
One important reason is my warranty is due to run out next weekend.
Any help is appreciated.

check the moniter cable :-)
No signal usually means the monitor is not receiving anything from the PC...it might not actually be in powerdown mode or whatever. Check both ends. Turn the monitor off and back on too and make sure the video card is not loose (ground yourself before doing that and don't touch the circuit board as much as possible and do not touch the mother board or the ram modules)

I would check all the cards, including memory cards that they are properly seated.
Video cards are easy to upgrade and if it is close to warranty running out, time for a new box anyway!!!!
:sshhh.
