Know that most threads end up being hijacked by those wanting to be humorous. Don't be surprised if your serious post ends up not being seriously responded to. If your serious post has not been responded to seriously within the first five or ten responders, then it is no longer necessary to read following responses as the thread has been hijacked.
If you are new, know that it will take a LONG time to be accepted into the community. You might even end up feeling ignored.

Remember to make use of paragraphs and spell checkers.

Don't use too many graphics or big bold print. Makes what you write very hard to read.

My advice to new posters is don't take everything here too seriously.

Also don't let people on forums play Pastor to you.

If a thread makes you mad then stay away from me.
Remember that there are real persons behind the screen names , respect their feelings.

Ill remember not to use BIG BOLD print but Im thinking us old folks need it:dunno

Most of the posters here seem to be the same ones from New Faith Child. I've been there a long time. Therefore, as I see what is happening here by the same people, as being the same as NFC, I said what I said.

Felicity's Tips.......

Keep your sense of humour.

Stay sweet.

Give others respect even though you don't agree with them.

It's a sign of strength when you can maintain your cool even when others disagree with you and misunderstand either purposely or unpurposely.

Don't put words in people's mouths. Don't twist what they say. It's maddening when people do this.

Admit it if you're wrong or have misunderstood.

It's okay if people disagree with you. It doesn't make you wrong ..... but it might could be that they are right too. ;)

Defend your point of view and stand up for you believe as strong as you want but understand that not everyone's going to agree with you so don't be surprised when they don't. :)

Remember that anything you say is open to criticism and comment so again, be prepared.

Some battles just aren't worth fighting so choose wisely.

Don't try and be like somebody else; just be yourself.

Paragraphs are a must if you want people to take time to read your longgggggggg post. I think otherwise its too difficult and they just skip it.Right.

Thing is if you go to the time and trouble of expressing your thoughts or opinion or whatever on any topic in any kind of coherent way you might as well do it in a way that's going to be easy for people to read and comprehend.

Spaces between thoughts are very important. And shorter paragraphs (not too long) are best too.

Just my opinion. :)

this is a very key concept on AFF: keep the arguments/criticisms/etc objective and avoid attacking individuals or slandering entire groups (libs/mods/cons)

sooo true!!!!

Don't be surprised when a positive thread is suddenly depressed by some individual who doesn't let one enjoy a good thought.... Some of the posters are flawless and therefore they do have the right to point out the error in your thoughts!!!!:largehalo

Blessed are the PMs. That is to say blessed are the Peace Makers. Also blessed is the one who understands and can navigate successfully through office (forum) politics.

Hey! There are the written rules and then there are the rules that REALLY count. Blessed are they that keep the first but more blessed are they that are accomplished in the craft of the latter.
