Well, we're excited! A church in Cordova just became a part of Love & Truth Ministries. It is a suburb of Memphis, I guess you would call it. The pastor Jimmy Greer has been there for 41 years and is wanting to retire, so about 3-4 weeks ago, he got in touch with Eddie and wanted us to acquire the church. They voted officially this morning, and it was unanimous. Eddie & I had met with the whole church last Sunday night to let them ask questions, and they ask a lot.
Eddie has known the Greer's all of his life (ex-UPC). It will be a good corporate move, for us and them. There is a ton of potential in that area - 10,000 new homes around where they built the church 9 years ago!!
The exciting part, but a little overwhelming too, is that now we will do three services in Jackson weekly, one in Savannah and two in Memphis, beginning sometime in October. It's a good thing I like to hear Eddie preach!!! We also have churches in Henderson TN, Corinth MS, and an affiliate work in Lexington TN. Eddie will preach at all of them at certain times during the year, but for now we will focus on these three.

Thanks!! It will probably be a good thing for me. Zac and Jake are moving out Tuesday and I won't have time to feel the "Empty Nester" syndrome since our lives will be so crazy-hectic!

How does the process work for you guys? Do you eventually appoint another pastor to that specific work, or do you run yourself crazy trying to do it all indefinitely? Sounds hectic!

Eventually, we will again (hopefully) pastor one church and have the others all turned over to other pastors. We are in the process of finding a campus pastor for Savannah, but for now, we will continue to go there. Jackson is the home base. The main reason we will go to Memphis twice a week right now is because they are totally new to us and they need to hear Eddie's vision and his voice. It's a crazy life, but we love it!!
I know this is controversial, but Eddie definitely has the calling of an apostle, more than any of the other fivefold ministry. He thrives on this stuff!! He loves a new challenge for the Kingdom.

I have always loved and respected the Greers. Carlene Greer taught me so much about music and singing and worshiping in song. The Greers were dear friends of ours as we all went to TN Camps together and I would love to see them again. I sometimes will read up on them at their website. Would love to catch up with the daughters and families. God bless you in this endeavor!

Eddie knew the girls from childhood, as well as Carolyn Hensley who has always attended there. They laughed at him for calling them "girls" because they are our age and a little older.

Yes, I remember Carolyn as well. We all had lots of fun "back then"! So, are you and Eddie going to be at THAT church on Sunday mornings for now or Jackson? Just in case I come to visit? I'd like to come when Eddie was speaking, wherever that might be.

Sherri, Are you guys temporarily filling in until a pastor is found, or do you plan to find a 'manager' pastor/preacher and remain in control as the Apostle for the church?

We will be doing 9 AM and 11 AM in Jackson, and 3 PM in Cordova. I know we're nuts, but God will give extra grace. He always does!
I'm still looking for you to visit, by the way!!!

Eddie is the "apostle" (for lack of a better word) over all the L & T churches. We will own the building, assuming all assets and liabilities. We will eventually have a pastor in place there, but for now, we feel like they need to be taught by Eddie to catch the vision of L & T.

Sherry, I know you want to focus on Savanah, and cordova but dont forget your other churches. You dont want them to hurt while you all enjoy the new campus. I know it is easier doing the new business. But you can cause weakness in your other campuses. There are valueable people in your network that can help you in your ministry. Dont over extend yourself!
God Bless

We are being careful to do the right thing for all churches; I hope you haven't heard otherwise! Eddie has had meetings lately with the leadership from the other churches and unless we are getting wrong info, everything is cool.
We are trusting God to lead us. Just pray!

No Negative here, but I saw your comments about working on Cordova, Savanah, and Jackson. I know you have more campuses than that. I guess I just did not hear your heart for the other works in your ministry.
It is good that you have had meetings with them, it shows your concern and your help. Plus it shows that everyone wants to work in unity. It has been tough for those in your ministry. Dont forget the ones on the frontline working on your behave. Keep up the good work.
Once you can get all of your campuses inline your going to be even bigger than now.
Running business/ministry takes a team of people willing to make the sacrifice for the vision of the House(LoveTruth). It is amazing how people will give knowing it is not there on vision but someone elses. You guys have done a great job at getting people to buy/ and sacrifice for your vision. They are willing to give up everything for the vision. It is just amazing to watch people give to ministries.
God Bless

No negative here. You must have misunderstood what I said. I was worried about what your thinking. Your statement was, we are working mainly on Jackson, Cordova, and Savanah. I just did not see your heart for your other works. It sounds to me, these three campuses are in much better way to make it due to your hard work. Remember, one bad apple will ruin the rest. I am glad your having meetings with whoever, but remember this is your vision and people are sacrificing to see your ministry come together. People who will give to your vision in time, money, life, and people hateing them for your vision, they need to be taking care of. SO dont forget those on the frontline- they love you and your vision--
God Bless

Thanks for your words. We know what they've been through and we trust the pastors completely. They are all great men and all love God and are willing to sacrifice. It's hard to spread yourself throughout a network of churches, but I know God will help us.

Love and Truth Ministries International, Inc. It's a 501-C3 non-profit that we oversee and all of our works/pastors are under it, including the ones overseas. Eddie is the bishop/apostle or whatever you want to call him. He hates titles.

No, and it's been totally a God-thing, not something we started out to do. God just keeps connecting us with churches/pastors. It would be a lot easier to just pastor the one church here, as it's thriving and having great revival. It's difficult to keep the momentum rolling and excitement high when you are stretched between different locations, but it seems to be what God is calling us to.

I rejoice with you. My point is; hopefully if the "Apostle" is absent (or God forbid, called home) the churches will thrive and continue in their mission.
Please understand... I am not saying this is not the case already!

I hope so too; and I have fretted over that some in the past. These are strong pastors though, and I would hope that they would carry on the vision with or without us. We do have a strong "second man" in the ministry that can fill in when Eddie's out of pocket, and could literally run the whole thing because he was saved under our ministry 20+ years ago and has the same heartbeat.

Great. It seems so many "Ministries" are built around an individual.
I really don't know you nor the churches you have established so no judgement from this end.
I just like to see the saftey net of strong plurel Eldership if there is a central leader who can "literally run the whole thing".
Thats all.
Bless You!

Well, we've tried to do things right and with integrity, but I'm sure we've made tons of mistakes through the years. Your Uncle P. can vouch for us though. :nod He knows our hearts.

that was my worries as well. a lawyer would want you to make board of directors (501 C-3) a corporate setting to help eddie cupples. that would help keep things honest.
it seems your going to have to really invest into people who know you and understand the vision. they are the ones who need the big investments- if you will take care of those few who have your back
you one day will be able to set back and watch it run while you enjoy your semi-retired lifestyle (lol)
p.s. make sure your pastors are not having to feed there kids on government cheese, while your staff are living at RUTHCHRIS-- LOL your pastors are on the frontline, trust me they are making the sacrifice for you!!

Well, none of us frequent places like Ruth's Chris. I think I've been there a total of three times. We are pretty frugal around here! I am actually such a bargain hunter, they all make fun of me. I refuse to pay full price for almost anything! And especially big bucks for food that will soon be gone. (I'd rather have shoes!!) LOL!!
