Now my daughter is engaged! He asked her at dinner Wednesday night and had the ring on top of her chocolate cake -- she said yes!
Then they went via Hummer limo to a Chris Botti concert. We were in the lobby of the Fox (St. Louis) when they came out to surprise them.
She just saw that I was there to surprise her.....

Lol.....I don't see that, but so many have said it.

I don't think we're going to use many candles - - actually, we won't use too much of anything since it's so beautiful in itself - - a few flowers up front and pew markers and that's about it! The wedding party will be the decor too!
It'll probably be the first time that chapel will have an apostolic minister in it!

A Catholic cathedral - part of a convent or school, then when it was no longer used as that, they gave the cathedral to the University of Missouri.

Well, this is just their save the date, so it's not her wedding colors.
She just wanted to go with the black and white pictures and she said purple/sage (her wedding colors) didn't look good, so they just went with the red.

Sis. Renda,
Just saw this and what a beautiful daughter and handsome
son in law to be! May they have a blessed marriage and their
home be filled with laughter and love, in Jesus Name!
July 11th will be our 49th wedding anniversary! Next year, of course,
our 50th! We have been SO blessed with health and happiness. Of
course every rose bush has it's thorns but the fragerance of those
lovely roses dims the pain of a thorn that nicks us from time to time!
The sweet taste of those delicious cherries are not diminshed because
there happens to be a pit in the middle. Just toss it away and forget
it! Always look for the good in life, because the good times always
out weighs the bad! Or so it seems.
Blessings,
Falla39

I don't either - there are so many cool looking shoes out there now I know I can find something that will match a bit better than those. I will have to have lower heels still because of my knee replacement, but I know I can find an attractive sandal that will look great with the dress.

Yes it is inside, but you don't understand I'm very hot natured.
The top is lined with a stretchy fabric that doesn't breath. The sleeves are sheer, but I don't think that would help. The top is too big since I've lost some weight and it just doesn't feel good/comfortable on.

I was on the Nordstrom site, and I saw several dresses listed as either chocolate, mocha, bronze, hammered...etc....ie: brown, and I liked several of them.
The one you have listed looks lighter weight than the others on there, so it should be cooler.

Yep, it will still be hot but at least it is inside. Did you happen to try to find a motb dress at the mall i.e. Macys, Belk, etc? My mom is having a hard time finding a dress that she thinks is decent enough. She really doesn't want to order one because she likes to try clothes on.

No, I ordered mine from Nordstrom's and love it. I needed something MOB, but cool too. I'd perfer to try on clothes too, but I knew this style would work for me.

Yes, it's call mocha - it's a soft light chocolate color.
I found shoes that match it perfectly - I'll take a picture of them and post.
The picture doesn't show it, but there are seed pearls on the dress and makes it sparkle - - the shoes have sparkle on them and are a little strappy on the top, so it looks like it's made out of the dress almost.....I got lucky.
AND - - they are low heeled!

Regarding shoes and weddings........... when my first child got married, I looked more for style and price. I lived to regret that. :gaga
The next wedding - I looked for style and comfort and was willing to pay quite a bit more. However, it worked out for the best. Those shoes have been SO comfortable on several dress-up occassions so I have definitely gotten my $ worth! I told DH - even if I pay more for the shoes than the dress, my feet are NOT going to hurt at this wedding! :toofunny - As it turned out - got a perfect pair for around $75 - my dress, well, it was quite a bit more - but well worth it! :gaga

I went for comfort on the dress and paid more than I normally would have, but it's dressy and comfortable (cooler) than anything else.
The shoes will be just for the wedding. I will take those off for the reception and switch to a flat pair of sequined thongs - shoes guys - - shoes! Don't want to take advantage of my new knee.

Sis. Renda,
What lovely pictures of a beautiful Bride and a handsome son in love!
I am sure the Mother of the Bride was lovely also!
You may not have seen the thread "Forty-nine years Ago Today, July 11th".
I started the thread and Sis. Rhoni started a Happy Anniversary thread for us.
Anyway, they were combined so you might take a look. I recall that we talked
about your daughter going to be married on our 49th Anniversary.
May God bless your children with many happy years of wedded bliss. May they
always remember that "Marriage Takes Three" for that is why we have had many
together years. We both give God the praise, honor and glory for the grace, and
the love for Him and each other that has carried us through many joys and sorrows.
Many ups and downs. That grace will continue to lead us "Through The Years".
Blessings again on your children and on YOU, a precious mother and mother in love!

Sis. Renda,
We enjoyed it immensely! All six of our adult children and their
families have been up there but we never had. They knew just
where to send us! LOL!!
I wish we had known you were going to be there too. It would
have been so great to meet you. We did not know we were
going until two days before. We left on the 4th.
Another neat thing was that one of the shows is owned by a
man whose family lived across the street from us when he was
born and he went to school with some of our children. I also
graduated 50 yrs. ago last year with his father. His name is
Clay Cooper and he owns the "Clay Cooper Theatre" on Main St.
or 76, in Branson. We had not seen him for many years. We got
front row center seats. When he came out he did not recognize
us. He started asking the ones on the front row where they were
from and when my husband said W----, TX, he said, "That's where
I'm from! Do I know you? What's your name"? Then he recognized
and said he knew and went to school with your son, __, and knew
other of our children. He spent time with us at intermission and
after the show was over followed us outside and visited for at
least half an hour. I told my husband before we went I felt that
we were there for a greater purpose than just the show. I had
had a burden for this family for a long time.
He hugged me and shook my husband's hand numerous times.
There is a story behind all this but enough for now!!!!
Blessings,
Falla39

A guy from their church in St. Louis played the piano. I'll send a clip via email of some of the music he played.
It was nice and she was happy - that's what mattered. I think the purple was real rich looking!
