I will certainly keep you and your husband in my prayers as I can honestly say I know what you both are going through. My wife began Rad Treatement this week as well. No real affects yet, though she had a mild seizure today. Not from the Rad, I don't think, but from the brain tumor itself (and not taking her meds as she should). Just three more weeks of RAD to go... Hair loss, vomiting, exhaustion, etc. Then... the chemo will start. We sure ain't looking forward to that. We'll be praying for you and your spose and believing with you that God will strengthen you and give you the courage to face each day, with the knowledge that He is in control.

My father-in-law just recently went through Chemo... but did not have to do radiation. The best thing you can do is keep encouraging him to continue no matter how miserable he feels.

Thanks OneAccord. I'm sorry to hear your wife (and you) are going through all that. How serious is the brain tumor? Fortunately my husband will not have to undergo chemo...he has 5 weeks of radiation (daily). Today his muscles were really sore and the dr said that is not a usual side effect...take ibuprophen?? So, we're a little concerned about that...maybe he just has some sort of bug. Are you doing anything nutritionally? My husband went to a nutritionist. Of course it is very hard when you don't even feel like eating anything. But hopefully this will help now and maybe more later..

Yes....and I myself waffle on it. Radiation is bad stuff. I'm still not sure why they want him to go five weeks instead of the three they said at the beginning. I think because it's in his lymph node. I'm more concerned about his frame of mind really at this point because he is so tired and sore etc.

I'm praying for you, my friend.
And not to take away from your situation, but remember my mom's husband. He had seed implants in his prostate yesterday in the hopes it will cure his cancer.

Praying for others does not take away from my husband's situation at all. It just reminds us we are not alone in our battles! I will keep him in prayer.

Good morning. As far as eating is concerned, Lola hasn't had any problems. (We've only had 2 Rad treatments.) She had surgery on 8/9 to remove a moderate tumor, but, in just two months it came back. Another tumor has also formed. We're perturbed that Rad wasn't begun earlier, but... well, we don't know why the Rad Dr decided she needed chemo instead of Rad. So, 2 months went by, giving this thing a chance to grow. Her Rad treatments are to last 3 weeks (5 days a week). Yesterday afternoon, she had another seizure, but I think that was because she wited too late to take the meds. Today, all is well. You are in our prayers.

I know that you have to do your own homework. There are so many different opinions out there. You are in my prayers too.

Dear Lord God,
We humbly ask that You would be with Sis. ILG's dear husband
as he goes through this radiation. May his spirit be lifted and he
be encouraged just by knowing You will never leave us nor forsake
us, so that we may boldly say, The LORD IS MY HELPER". Thank You
for what You will do for this brother and his dear family, in Jesus Name!

ILG, I have not been on here much, but want you to know I will continue praying.
Thanks everybody. It may not seem like much (to pray for us) but it is.
I just wanted to let everyone know that my husband has finished radiation. It was a daily thing for 5 weeks so it will be a relief not to have to drive there everyday! He has a follow up in about a month and they will do a CT scan to see if they got it all. Thank you for the prayers and please continue to pray that he's beaten this totally! He also has really high cholesterol, so I guess we work on that next!
The people at his job have been so good, they donated quite a bit of PTO time so he has not had to work OR worry too much about money during this time!! \O/

We're still prayin for you guys. I know what you are going through. My wife just finished RAD and was to start Chemo this week. But Blood Clots formed in her leg and Chemo has to be put off 'til we get this under control. Thats something I wanted to tell you--- watch for ANY changes in his body and/or personality. RAD does weird things to the body we are finding out. Really unpredictable. So, any changes in his health should be noted and watched carefully. Keep praying, and we'll be prayin with you...and remember, you're not alone.
ILG, we will continue to pray. thanks for the update.

Hmm, I'll keep that in mind. The drs don't always tell you everything. He has been tired mostly and can't stand the smell of onions. Other than that he seems pretty good. He has a rash on his back but it isn't real bad...looks like a fiarly bad sunburn.
I'm praying for you guys too. Fortunatley my husband doesn't have to do chemo. I hear chemo is worse than radiation. Hope and pray your wife fairs well and that you too keep up with your strength. It's hard to do everything normally plus go to all the drs appts and everything too.
ILG, we will continue to pray. thanks for the update.
Thanks, Ferd.
Good tip for Radiation pts. Use 100% aloe vera gel..it helps sooth the burns and helps with the scaring. When my Mother started her radiation therapy the Dr. recommended it. It worked!! You are in my prayers!! Not an easy thing to through! My mother has been fighting cancer for six yrs. now. We struggle with this everyday! But, she still has a smile on her face! Even in her worse day while laying in bed..she will say "Thank you Jesus"
I too know what you are going through with a loved one receiving radiation...my prayers are with you, ILG, and with your hubby of course.
