One of the big secrets amongst the ministry is, a lot of old timers were very wealthy. I can think of 2 of our pioneers in CA.
that were quite wealthy but they pretty much lived within the means of their church.

Other oldtimers never saved a dime, Always thought the rapture would take place before they got old and
ended up being a burden to their families.

.

Well, there are hypocrites in every arena.

Most of the really wealthy preachers I know, have worked hard to get where they are and their congregation respects them for their hard work and dedication. I'd rather have it be that way then to have the broke old-timer forcing the church to give him a big retirement after he has run a good church into the ground.

He continued his contractor business and went to a city, built a church, won people to the Lord, and every dollar that came into the church whether tithe or offerings, stayed in the church accounts and paid for a second new building. He has never taken any monies from the church which now runs about 300 people. Everything the church does, they pay cash and are not in debt for anything. This pastor has poured his own blood, sweat, tears, and many dollars, into his church. He is a highly respected UPCI minister.

Good example

one day we shall all give account for our spending in the light of eternity...

How about a "new pastor" that comes in and drains the thousands of dollars in the church's "building fund" account to build himself his own private bathroom for his office, with marble counters, and the whole works.

But it is still in the "church building" so I guess that makes it okay....

There are many veiws...We must learn to spend our money in a way that God is pleased. I think God doesnīt want us living like the poorest poor but at the same time we are not to waste money.
If you are around a person long enough you will know what they REALLY are and WHAT they really love...
The love of self...is very dangerous...

Shame on the church for apparently not having the required by law financial board to make the financial decisions of the church.

This is one of the things that peeves me about many Pentecostals. They want to hide, fly by their seat, and not abide by the laws of the land.

That pastor has issues. I think any Pastor that sees himself as uncommon folks and is above the common folks has issues.
