(1) Well no kidding Sherlock!

Now if you can connect being born Black with choosing to live a lifestyle while condemning others who don't follow you to the "t" and compelling others to follow you to the "t" with opinions taught as doctrine and real scripture manipulated, then maybe you will make sense.

(2) Those who would attach standards to the Acts 2:38 message (as in giving it the same significance as Acts 2:38) are adding to the Word of the Lord. To call them "legalist" is polite. The Book of Revelations tells the end of those who add to the Word of God.

My beef is with legalists and hypocrites-- to me they are one in the same. There is NOTHING righteous or honest or Christ like about being a minister in an organization that expects you to not have a tv, but you have one any way and then you hide it when your Pastor comes to your house! What kind of mess is that! That guy is not struggling with a sin, he's just being a hypocrite!

For the sin that I wrestle with, I call it sin and don't try to justify it.

If it's not sin to have a tv, then don't be a preacher in an organization that says it is! And DON'T hide the stupid thing from your Pastor when he comes over because GOD is our Judge, not the Pastor.

Stanley Chambers was the UPCI General Superintendant from like 1968-1979.

I was trying to show some have not moved beyond the 1970's....

In their thinking or appearance....

I guess you have to have been around a while...

If your husband would never do that then hooray hooray.

I am happy, but I have to say this, you guys could be wearing a Tarzan outfit behind the pulpit and be as liberal as Obama, and you are still to the BONE UPCI Pentecostals! Till the day you die, you all have Hazelwood flowing through your veins. :winkgrin

Ok, that was funny. I admit, I have a very rich heritage in UPC and I still love to connect with the people. It's in my blood. You're right.

I only mentioned Stanley Chambers because he was listed as as the GS on my dad's (John Eckstadt) last 2 UPCI cards before my dad died in 1978.

My father was a friend of Bro Chambers....
