Yes! Section 759. article 3,019, paragraph 49 explicitly states "Thou shalt read the unity statement; thou shalt love the unity statement; thou shalt heed it and lo! if thine eye is contrary to it thou shalt surely burn in heck"

After conferences in 1944, the PCI and PAJC met in 1945 and successfully merged to form the United Pentecostal Church under the collective agreement on the following statement of fundamental doctrine:

The basic and fundamental doctrine of this organization shall be the Bible standard of full salvation, which is repentance, baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.

We shall endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit until we are all come into the unity of the faith, at the same time admonishing all brethren that they shall not contend for their different views to the disunity of the body. - Manual, UPCI 1994

We hear a lot about keeping the unity of the Spirit but what was the basic
and fundamental doctrine or teaching that was agreed upon! Was it not
spelled out!

Just some thoughts,

I have found out what I wanted .

GOD bless and good night.

He comes with a judgemental, holier than thou attitude, imo. None of us have asked him to remove his landmarks. Let him have his landmarks but don't let him impose his landmarks on others.

I suggest he read Romans 14 and then let's discuss. :)

I agree with mizpeh. This person comes in, starts an argument, and then bails because he can't defend his position. :foottap

that's an important point. The things that are truly eternal will always stand.

those things that won't even stand still and be questioned will not last.

exactly my point!

Chorus:
LET US ALL GO BACK TO THE OLD LANDMARK,
LET US ALL GO BACK TO THE OLD LANDMARK,
LET US ALL GO BACK TO THE OLD LANDMARK,
Then, we’ll stay in the service of the Lord.

Verse 1:
Let us kneel and pray in the old-time way,
Let us kneel and pray in the old-time way,
Let us kneel and pray in the old-time way,
He will hear us and be near us,
We’ll be given bread from Heaven,
He will feed us until we want no more.

Verse 2:
Preachers preach the word in the old-time way,
Preachers preach the word in the old-time way,
Preachers preach the word in the old-time way,
Tell the story of His glory,
It will warn men, it will turn men,
It will save this old world from sin and shame.

Verse 3:
Let us blend our voices in the old-time way,
Let us blend our voices in the old-time way,
Let us blend our voices in the old-time way,
Common meter, they’re much sweeter,
When you stop singing, bells keep ringing,
It will linger right down in your soul.

Verse 4:
Let’s go down to the river in the old-time way,
Let’s go down to the river in the old-time way,
Let’s go down to the river in the old-time way,
Sons and daughters buried in the water,
Coming up shouting, nobody doubting,
Everybody happy in the service of the Lord!

Recap

Bro. Sam,

That's the spirit! Like to think that was the spirit of the merger in 1945.

I am 69 yrs old and I never knew there were two opinions as to the Doctrine
of Christ until a few years ago. My late father never mentioned it to me so I
thought that the only difference was the names of the organizations. I am
so thankful Dad didn't tell me back then. He just taught us from the Word of
God and we believed and obeyed it. I believe it would only have confused me
back before I was mature enough to search it out for myself. Today I have
absolutely no confusion. I know in whom I have believed!
God is not the author of confusion. The enemy will bring confusion in a home,
church, organization, or other. Anywhere he can find a place to come in. But
my GOD is GREATER than any of that trickster's tricks!

Blessings,

Falla39

What a wise father you had!

I doubt if lots of people even knew there was a difference...I didn't know that until a little while back!
