Due to some situations ,I couldn't do for my mother what I would have liked to ,material wise but I did tell her I love her and appreciate her.
I see her when I can.

I went to the Baptist church with my mom and though it is something I would NOT do regularly, the service was great!

The folks there genuinely love to see me when I come to special services with her. I spent half my life in that church, and even though they know I am long gone from them, they embrace me so graciously and enthusicastically when I come "home" to visit.

It was a wonderful feeling sitting beside my mom in church after all we've been through these last few months.

Bro. Hutchison, you seem like a great son and husband and dad too, I suppose. I miss my mother so much. I bought some flowers and made a nice arrangement for her grave. Mother's Day is a sad day for me when I think about my mom, but my son and my husband made it a good day...oh, yes, and the GOOD LORD made it a great day!!:thumbsup

I don't typically go to the ultra con church I attended today, but the service was great, too....Lots and lots of singing, but there was preaching too. ....I don't like to go to churches where there are 1 hour and 30 minutes singing, 12 minutes of preaching, then 45 minutes more of singing. A few weeks ago I visited a church and that is literally what took place!

So glad you got to be with your mom, tamor.

That is more important than gifts or flowers. Just knowing that you remembered her and called to say I love you is what matters.

....All of us here can tell you are thankful for your wife!....Your speaking of her is a tribute to her and she should be thankful that you hold her in such high honor. Call your mom and visit her as often as you can..If mine were alive, I know where I would have been today and everyday, if possible.

Whew! I have to agree with you there TalkLady. I wouldn't want to go to services like that on a regular basis either!!

To each his own......but if a service had to be that long, I had much rather have more preaching and less singing....We sang and sang and sang and then just sat down for 12 minutes of preaching and then it was back for almost another hour of singing!

If someone knows a preacher might be longwinded I would say cut down to the singing.
People can only stand as much as their backsides will let them.
