Man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. I have owned a landscaping business as a youth pastor, I was a Starbucks barista several years ago to help make ends meet. I am now in sales in a full time capacity.

I thought you would post that, but no, as far as the definition of bivocational pastor is concerned, Paul wouldn't be classified as one.

I think it's safe to say that while Paul didn't spend his entire ministry career as a bivocational minister, his work in Ephesus led the way for many such as Deacon to work a secular job to support his ministry. My personal experience would be that one should have held a job among the public for a period of time before ever being licensed. One of the greatest articles ever written on the subject, in my humble opinion, was written by this dear brother (Deacon) himself.
