Reality and "Revisionism" is often two different things. This is reality!

Raven

Thanks for posting these picitures and historical anedotes, I bet it brings back a lot of memories for you. I would to God that oneness Pentecost could catch some of the spirit of these early pioneers.

I don't remember cut hair being the 'deal' that it is today. We have pics of me when I was a young'un with my bangs cut, and I have seen other pics from the youth back in the day, and they had cut bangs as well.

Don't get me wrong...I do not cut my hair. I'm just saying I don't remember hearing as much about it back then.

That is interesting about Bro. CH being PCI...

I know he was Light/Friends of the Bride in doctrine, but can it be verified that he was a '1 stepper'?! I do understand that not all PCIers at that time were...

Barb,

He may have embraced so of those doctrines, but he and others believed that Acts 2:38 was the message of the church age.

But didn't the PCI elders...those who are called '1 steppers', believe this as well?! They continued on with baptism and Spirit infilling.

I must be slow 'cause I'm not getting this...

Yes, they did (as others have said), and you couldnt tell them apart, but if you asked them they would give you a honest answer.

Much can be debated about "bloodlines" but there is something interesting in the Haney history. Clyde Haney's mother, Sofie, was of true pioneer stock. Like the TV series "Big Valley", which was portrayed as in Stockton, Mother Haney [ as she was called ] was from a cattle ranching family that had settled in the California foothills in the 1800's. Their Double Springs ranch is now a California Historical Site with an old cemetary on the property where Clyde Haney and his ancestors are buried. It was this pioneer blood, which ran strong in Clyde Haney, that made him the spiritual pioneer in the Western District that he was. This picture is of CJ Haney and his mother Sofie on a rare preaching trip to a Northern California church. Mother Haney is worthy of a good deal of credit in raising her children under adverse circumstances and leaving a righteous imprint upon them that goes all the way from the "Gold Country" hills to the offices in Hazelwood.

Mother Haney was a rich and sweet presence in the Stockton church for many years. Being of strong pioneer stock she lived well into her 90's.
