A person can still consider themselves gay (as far as preference), but not participate in the sin. I believe there are a lot of people in Pentecost who would say this is true, if they were honest. But they DO have to learn to live above sin, no matter what the temptation. And YES, God can fill them with the Holy Ghost, but they have to go on and live free.

God filled me with the Holy Ghost on April 1, 1984 at a little home missions church in WV. Been a struggle since day one, but God was there from day one. I love the Lord with all my heart. And I certainly don't claim to know a lot, but I do know where my heart is. Just struggling here folks. I'm certainly sensing a lot of tension here. And don't mean to be the center of it. I suppose that God is more merciful that we give Him credit for.

Jeff, we all struggle with our "stuff". So you aren't in trouble just because you struggle. Where these churches are wrong is that they accept their sin as OK to God and they don't try to overcome it anymore.

I care to differ. If you speak a word mispoken, that's a sin sis. And if you perform an "action unbecoming", that's a sin sis. I know we hate to hear that but it's true.

We sin. We're not sinless. We might carry the victory for a period of time...but we're not "sinless" because "sinfulness" isn't entirely based on action, it's based on nature. Sinful actions are SYMPTOMS of a sinful NATURE. Even if you go 10 years without sinning...that just means you aren't exhibitting symptoms...you're still infected though sis.

None of us are without sin...even if we've not performed what we might deem is a "sinful act" recently...because that sin nature is still with us and will be until we're glorified.

Nobody here is sinless and I refuse to allow the devil to fill me with that much religious pride. I might have the victory today, but I'm not going to look down my nose at someone who's struggling, or even APPEARS to have given up the fight against their sin. I welcome them and pray for and with them.

Aquila,

I only disagree with you on the doctrine of eternal salvation. I do not think we have to live in sin. I do not think we should boast of living in sin just like we should not boast that we are sinless. We should only boast in the Lord and his grace, mercy, and power of reconciliation.

Again I remind you...God's grace does not give us license to sin...but when we sin we have an advocate with the Father through Jesus Christ. If we confess our sin, HE is faithful and just to forgive us our sin.

Blessings, Rhoni

Ed it is not the feelings or the struggling that is sinful, but the practice.
Somethings are a spiritual battle and sometimes we need others to pray for us. As James states to confess our faults one to another-I believe there is power and deliverance in confessing our struggles to a trust worthy person, that can pray.

You mean we all struggle with our..."sin"? :lol

Am I the only one who finds it amusing that we can't say the "s" word in relation to ourselves, but we're very quick to apply it to others? Just an observation that I found amusing.

We struggle with "stuff", "words mispoken", even "actions unbecoming". C'mon. It's good 'ol fashioned SIN. S-I-N. Sin.

God knew when he filled me with the Holy Ghost as a youth that I would lie, cheat, steal, commit fornication, and even adultery...but God still filled me with His spirit.

They that are whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
