I think great messages teach principle and let the listeners fill in the blanks. That way it can cover much more territory.

That blanket looks like it wraps around you very nicely, though. :tiphat

Dan, i have made no bones about it. I own a TV. I have also argued for the UPCI to get rid of ANY reference to TV in the manuel. I still got something very postitive out of what revrandy said.

why cant a good word be accepted on its merits?

I agree with you. this also makes a warning on the subject quite appropriate.

And nobody gets uncomfortable.:)

The preachers in the Bible spelled some things out.

Yeah. Like sin. LOL!:toofunny

We've been out of the UPC for two years and haven't hooked up the TV yet (we watch videos on it). TV can be downright nasty. Or, you can watch the Home and Garden show. To the pure all things are pure.
It just depends on the amount of diligence that you want to put into keeping it that way.

Randy's message was great. I think everyone will agree with that. It was just a downer to see a great message narrowed into such a tiny funnel that seemed to scream UPC agenda.

We do not have a television...I do not want a television and never plan to have a television but internet is much more dangerous in my simple opinion...just a thought... The real sin is in the HUMAN heart...
I thought that was a great story...a warning...I chose to listen to the warning and be very careful for the eternity of many people depend on a leader's choice.
I once asked someone if they had internet and the person looked at me and said, " Janice, you know me I am easily hooked on vices so I have chosen not to have the internet in my home..."
Vices can be very evil and cruel and demanding. Many a stong man and women have fallen prey to "innocent" vices...things we "can" control or at least we think we can.
I once sat in an AA meeting with my sister and a man with shaking hands poured me coffee spilling much of it. After he got out of hearing distance my sister told me he had once been a noted surgeon...I don't think he planned it like that...
So my advice to you would be to pray much...give NO ROOM for flesh...

and whether I agree or not with warnings I listen carefully...and proceed to give my opinion with caution...

We live in such an evil day. I noticed so many transvestis (may be mis spelled) in the airport last night along with two ladies that were supposed to be "husband and wife" and I thought, "Lord we sure need your grace in this hour."
Lots of spirits are in the world today...and anything that is in the world could be sitting beside you at church. I pray everyday to be covered by His precious blood and for my children to be covered.

While I do feel any form of media ,must be used in a responsible way.
REVRANDY had a great thought.Anything that causes us to stumble is not good for our Spirituality.
