J/K. I know what you mean. I think. I mean, who wouldn't "support all that God does"?

Or maybe I know what I want you to mean by that! :lol As you all know, I don't believe accounts of God's wicked actions. I think God gets a bum rap. :)

:lol Notice, I didn't say, "Agree with everything", I said, "Support." What I don't agree with, I figure, "We will understand it better by and by" (I just sang that last line). :toofunny

True. It's so hard, and a very common struggle, to reconcile a God who is in control of all things... with really bad things happening. We look for reasons why God allowed something so horrible to happen.

Totally!! Not everything needs to be or can be explained. Some stuff just happens. In the words of Forrest Gump...."Things happen". Well, Forrest put it differently but I'd get banned forever if I quoted him.

One of the most frustrating things is when the preacher stands at the casket and tries to explain why we're there. "Heaven needed another flower" or whatever. Ugh.

:uhoh

How can you support something without (necessarily) agreeing with it?

Here it comes. Get ready. You may never see this again:

There. I tapped my foot at NoW. Notify the press!

Luke 13:4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish

Sometimes bad things happen to good people, like when the mental illness took over Pat Robertson's mind so many years ago. The man is off his rocker, and should have been yanked from the airwaves a long time ago.

Yancey's Where Is God When It Hurts is a profound response to those who are trying to find a "reason" or "cause" in this. His thoughts on the subject of pain (borrowed thoughts), are remarkable.

:toofunny I understand the appearance of contradiction. I support my wife even when I don't agree with her? My son? Does that work?

Seriously, I don't understand some things as I read about Him in the bible. I consider the possibility......Naw, I'm not even gonna say it. I struggle with the flood, Sodom....I reeeeaaly struggle with the book of Job, but highly value the lessons learned from it, especially chapter 32-on when Elihu shows up. Love that part.

But I won't claim to have the answer to this stuff or to be able to make some of sound reasonable. There are some unreasonable things about God but I anticipate understanding reason at some point.....I hope so, anyway! :D

How can you tell that he was wrong? Even the scripture you quoted has a threat of perishing "likewise", if "ye" didn't repent.
