I'd be much more interested in which of your beliefs might be Christian, personally...but hey, that's just me.

And so a Christian who may have voted for Obama is an idiot. Nice. Real unifying. Could we please move this thread to the political cesspool? Or something? Or better yet...nevermind.

States and local governments could offer tax credits and maybe even free use of abandoned buildings in exchange for hiring and training the people who live in the immediate areas of blighted abandonment. I firmly believe that economic strength is built locally and that our State and local governments can do better with the resources and Federal guidelines they have.

Sinners may have the right to sin in America, but that doesn't make sin right.

I believe life begins at conception and in abortion when it is necessary to save the life of the mother.

Having a strong military presence around the world is in our best interest, but propping up dictatorships is hypocritical-- regardless of the end result.

Public assistance programs should be geared to bring citizens to a place of self-reliance and healthy people should not be able to collect public assistance for the bulk of their lives. Again, this kind of accountability is best enforced at the State and local levels.

Asking people to produce identification in order to vote is not a bad thing, but it should not be implemented in an immediate manner and definitely not carried out in a way that is remiscent of our not-so-recent history.

Affirmative Action and other racial preference programs intended to correct the injustices of the past need to be re-tweaked to help the people who need the most help-- poor minorities from bad environments. Eventually, Affirmative Action needs to be done away with-- maybe by the time my children are adults.

I firmly believe that our country was founded on a Christian foundation and it is in the best interest of our country to never stray to far from our roots, while continuing to do what's right to honor the rights of ALL of our citizens.

Every male should serve in the Armed Forces or perform some form of volunteer service in order to build our society.

I like guns.

I like NASCAR.

What many GOP'ers want is for some GOP talking head to make a stand and for everyone waving the GOP banner to follow without question. I refuse to do that.

When it comes to issues in governing a nation, most matters of importance have resolutions that are more moderate than liberal or conservative.

I am more conservative than liberal. People who think like me are better identified as Republican than Democrat.

There are thousands of us that look at the extreme views that many Republicans and Democrats purport to be "markers" of political identity, and shake our heads at the stupidity.

For Esther.
