However, we're talking about people who are NOT struggling against or denouncing their sin, but accepting it, justifying it by twisting scripture, and passing on that bondage to others.

Again, the scripture I just quoted--

Galatians 6:10 "For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. "

Are we supposed to preach what men what to hear? If we only tell people what they want to hear, we aren't servants of Christ, but of men.

MissBratt, I hope you understand taht I was not in any way saying something negative about you :) I like you! I respect you. And I know that my good friend thinks the world of you - and that makes you good in my book :thumbsup

Glad to see ya whetin that sword young lady, BTW homosexuals hate God and are havin preachers prosecuted for preachin against their practice, only they want to be accepted by churchfolk. I'm not an open door's, open heart , open mind believer when it comes to that spirit, but I'll be glad to help cast that devil out of the person, know what I mean? I hate the devil and his evil works. Those that sin, rebuke before all. Aint it in there, huh?

You know you're awesome Ferd. I know we're like oil and water but I love and appreciate you as a brother more than you'll ever know. I know I talk smack in a debate...but you're a good man my brother.

THAT is a huge problem, and something we should never approve of, or compromise with.

Right, and that is what I take issue with.

I certainly believe a person who is filled with the Holy Ghost and living a Christian life is still a Christian whether they are tempted, or even if they mess up and give in to temptation.

It's what you do about the temptation, or what you do after you've sinned that determines in which direction you are STILL headed.

I have a problem with the Gay churches that do NOT discourage sin, but embrace it, and encourage it.

I feel ya bro.

I look at theological differences like this, if they have a different interpretation...so be it. They answer to God not me. I'm not going to judge another man's servant. I'll pray that they get enough Holy Ghost that God reveals the truth to them. I know this much...I'd couldn't teach it or attend a church that taught it. As for me and my family we will serve the Lord. I just pray God forgives them if they are in error.

My wife's family is interesting. Half the family is Jewish and the other half is Episcopal. Her uncle is an Episcopal Bishop who embraces "gay theology". He's given me plenty of resources on it and we've talked about it at length. I disagree with him and he with me. But we're still cordial to one another and sometimes we'll tag team praying at family functions. People know where we stand and sometimes they don't see how we can be such good family friends. I tell them that we both have a friend named Jesus....I just know him better. ;)

Re: Gay apostolics?

I think for many gays "repenting" isn't enough. They've "repented" a million times and it's just part of their nature. Imagine what it would be like if kissing a woman (or a man if you are a woman) didn't do anything for you...like you were kissing your mom or dad...but your body and interests regarding human need in this area responded to the same gender. I couldn't imagine how that would feel. That's why I think that there MIGHT be a genetic factor. In my opinion if something is "genetic" it's rooted in the "flesh". And sexual sin is a work of the "flesh". Their "flesh" just responds to the same gender for some reason. So considering these factors I think most homosexuals can't "repent" their way out of this condition. I think they need a miraculous healing that touches body, soul, and spirit. I've seen men repent and their attractions lead them right back to it. I've seen them have "devils of homosexuality" cast out of them...only for the attraction to continue and they be led right back into it. Unless you're a eunuch...intimate companionship is a need for most human beings. That means that unless their "attraction" changes they're going to naturally seek to fulfill that need. So I don't beat them over the head with "REPENT, REPENT, REPENT.", like that's all they need. Yes, they have to repent of the sin they've committed...but they need more....they need a change. They need a miracle.

So if Jesus is your uncle's friend, he is saved??

So whats the difference between them repenting a million times and you repenting a million times for your sins? How many times have you repented for the same sin? Do you need a miracle too? Lol.

Reading your post you sound like you dont sin at all. lol.:ursofunny

I think Aquila was just saying that he tries to use a little humor to overcome an awkward family situation.
