That's awesome, NOW. Brought tears to my eyes, actually. Because it's so true. No matter what questions I have, I never want to lose the presence of God. No matter what, I believe He is there, and He's real, and He interacts with us when we seek after Him.

Wow, I thought this thread was all in the right spirit... Surprised by the concerned soul who reported it.

Does the suppression of questions, conversation, and dialogue only increase and validate the cynicism?

Not really, this is actually a very open and free forum. It isn't censorship or suppression to keep the forum true to its purpose. If a conversation starts to go contrary to that purpose then admin should step in and redirect it.

Then evidently "True to its purpose" is the abolition of any questions as to the struggle with certain stories of the Old Testament. Got it. :foottap

I hear ya, struggling with some of those stories was one of my biggest obstacles once upon a time.

Struggle all you want. However, the conclusion that God's word is fallible is unacceptable on this forum. It is who we are, it is what we believe, it is a foundation we firmly stand upon. Personally, there are a plethora of things I don't understand, but I don't resort to errancy to explain them. There used to be a LOT more that I didn't understand, but now I do w/o having to resort to errancy. Continued study and trust in God answers most questions. The questions I don't have answered, I have chosen to not let them affect my walk. Like Job, "Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him." :D

I still don't hardly know what to say except a very underwhelming "wow." I've heard it said, "When discussion isn't allowed, it always seems like someone has something to hide."

In my opinion, cynicism jumps through the roof when this happens. But you all get to do what you want, so........
