Using the term, Won or Lost is not a problem in my opinion. You can also use conquered or defeated, first or last, or even a GPA to help describe a point of success. Even the Scripture below uses this type of metaphor to describe our venture as Christians, even though we aren't running a physical race.
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
As far as one soul being lost, defining the term "Lost" is where I have a problem. Burning and cooking an eternal creation forever because of a few measly years of being alive in a body that is prone to fail, simply and plainly doesn't make sense.
If we can't conclude beyond any doubt of how a person avoids this torture chamber, which makes Hitler's concentration camps look like a picnic, then Houston, we've got a problem!
Every time we discuss this, and the lines begin to be drawn, EVERYBODY has their own opinion of who is saved, and who isn't. And, the main reason for this is when people try to comprehend a lake of fire, burning their loved ones and friends in unquenchable flames, we fall apart when trying to understand such grief.
