When I had my brain surgery, I had an incision in my abdomen where the shunt tubing was placed. I developed a staph infection there that was so bad it required another surgery. I cleansed the wound with normal saline and covered it, doing so twice a day, but that just prevented it from getting worse. The surgeon cut out the area of infection and rerouted my tubing to the other side of my abdomen, and I was on IV antibiotics. So in a way, saline soaks and cleansing does help, but if someone is running a fever, chances are, the infection is systemic and antibiotics are needed. |

I just got back! It was quick and simple... Indeed infected they gave her a tetnus booster and an antibiotic shot and then antibiotics to take... The fever is almost totally gone... one of those she has it until you walk into the dr office things !!! LOL
So I think we are on track now! |
