Re: Minor Earthquake!!
There is some damage in St. Louis (35 miles southwest of us).
I know of no damage here. Everyone will be jittery for a while now. Most folks don't realize that we have a huge fault here in the Midwest named the New Madrid fault. This fault created the largest earthquake in U.S. history way back in the early 1800's. It caused the Mississippi River to flow backwards, created Reelfoot Lake in Tennessee and rang bells in Philadelphia. Geologists have been predicting a massive Midwest quake for years. |
Re: Minor Earthquake!!
It was felt in our county in southwest Tennessee. I didn't know anything about it but have heard alot of reports on the local radio station.

Re: Minor Earthquake!!
My brother is an engineer and runs a train out of Indiana.
He said that he felt it on the train. He didn't pay much attention to it because other trains, etc can make the ground shake. |

YIKES! |
Re: Minor Earthquake!!
My sister is in Evansville, IN and my brother in St. Louis. I need to see if they felt anything. Think I'll call them!

Re: Minor Earthquake!!
It woke me up about 4:30 in Finley, Tennessee with my bed rocking. I didn't know what had happened until I heard the news reports.

Re: Minor Earthquake!!
This sounds like it was wide spread. Thank God it was'nt a bigger one!

It woke my daughter up in St. Louis - - she said her bed was shaking and she didn't know what it was - she was scared to death!

Re: Minor Earthquake!!
Hey I did not wake up... but I did have a strange dream, does that count?
I hardly ever dream at all. |
