Quality Leaders will surround themselves by others that are strong in areas that they are not.

BINGO!

And, will not tie their hands by micromanaging them.......but, will let them operate in their gifts and abilities, and not be threatened by them.

I really believe that as Christian leaders we should define ourselves not as "leaders who serve" but "servants who lead". I feel that in my church some serve as teachers, some serve as ushers, etc... and some serve as leaders. I believe that takes some of the ego out of play and some of the false modesty out of being a "leader who serves".
If the Apostles and ultimately Jesus could be called servants......

Will stand firmly and kindly on what they believe in.. not wafflers I mean... depending on who they are hanging with at the time. This is a quality I admire in leaders of all stripes.

Re: Truest sign of Quality leadership

Found this online at populararticles.com, thought it was pretty good. (directed at homeschooling but applies to all areas of leadership)

1. Humility -

Humility is knowing your ability and limitations especially the correct measuring of ones own worth and value. I'm looking at the humility of Christ where it was felt as an unseen power, not leaders who won't go out of their front door to lead.

2. Strength of character (will) -

The Moral qualities of a leader; the principles and motives that control the life of a leader to make the right choices. If you teach your home schooled children to make the right choices that will propel them to the fore front of a lot of people who are making the worng choices.

3. Determination -

"Fortitude (determination) is the guard and support of the other virtues. " Locke

Given the above wisdom we can realize that determination is growing in our home schooled children the attribute to never give up, never surrender.

4. Ability to give credit to others -

Most of Christ's ministry was giving thanks to the Father, or giving all praises to the Father, or hallowing (make or respect as holy) his holy name. Our home schooled children should be taught the ability or rcognize the good in each other and be thankful.

5. Willingness to accept blame -

I refer to this attribute as the 'take up my cross and walk' trait, when your wrong admit it and take it. When you let down your team, raise your hand and accept responsibility so the rest of the members are relieved. Our home schooled children must not be taught to point fingers at anyone but themselves.

To me a good leader holds a person's best interest at heart.

Quality Leadership...

1. Speaks to you... not at you.

2. Actually hears what you say.

3. Does not agree with wrong but makes sure that you know that your point has been heard and understood.

4. Plants seeds of thought in your mind and prayerfully allows God to bring the increase. There is no need to turn your thinking in a day (largely because they are wise enough to realize that real, deep, true change takes time and it NEVER happens in a day)

Man... this list could go on for a while.

These are some decent starters though.

Great post, I really like that.

The shield of faith is a shield that we hold up within ourselves because we feel that something is true.

They also feel that their beliefs are true and when those beliefs are felt to be openly challenged their shield of faith is raised.

It is the great soul winner that can slowly move an "adversary" over to further truth.

When someone goes on the offensive they have ceased to hear what you say. Interestingly enough when they cease to believe that you are hearing what they say then they tend to go on the offensive as well.

I think the Bible sums it up more succinctly than I.

Pro 11:30 The fruit of the righteous [is] a tree of life; and he that winneth souls [is] wise.

Mat 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

WOW, another great post.
