My wife is concerned that he will have permanent scars. I told her that it would add character to his face (she didn't like that too much).

Instead of giving him stiches, they bound him with the glue.

How awful! What kind of dog was it? I'm with your wife about the character thing. LOL

In Jesus' name the scars will heal and not be noticeable.

Mark,
Were you there? Did you see the situation? How can you with a clear conscious make statements like this. I cannot believe ANYONE would say such a thing to a parent whos child has been hurt. NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCES!!!
Sometimes man, you just step outside the boundries of love.
Blessings
Steve

Wow. This is so weird. I had a hard time falling asleep last night. One of the things that kept running through my mind was this scenario of a dog attacking my youngest daughter. I kept getting mad at this dog and it kept me awake.

I am glad your son is going to be ok. We had a dog once who didn't like my oldest daughter. She was constantly snapping at her and managed to bit her twice. The first time I forgave the pooch because it wasn't all that bad. The second time.....well, we don't have that dog anymore.

Sometimes we need to be like God and wink at ignorance.

Glad he is going to be ok...
We cannot prevent everything..I was standing right beside my husband some years ago and a bull dog jumped me and bit me...We were petting the dog...have no eartly idea why the dog did that...things just happen sometimes.

We have a worrisome situation at our home. My son's dog is about a year old now. It is a Heinz 57 mix but the most obvious breeds in her are Great Dane and Boxer. She weights 70-80 lbs.

This dog was an abused approx. 3 month old puppy when we got her. She was frightened at the slightest noise and would run hide with her face between her paws (door slamming, car door closing, lawn mower, etc).

Over the past 9 months after being shown a lot of love she has really come into her own. She is meant to be a yard dog with occasional forays into the house (she loves to sleep on our bed).

Now that she has grown in self confidence she has turned into a good watch dog with a ferocious bark at anybody pulling up in our driveway, etc. That part we like. However recently she has worried us by becoming very aggressive through the chain link fences that seperate us from three of our neighbors. They have small dogs on the other side and our dogs, including this one would run up and down the fence line barking at the dogs. That was ok but at some point this dog started standing up and putting her paws on top of the fence. I know that she could jump the five foot fence in a flash if she realized it. She also has started jumping at the fence. When our neighbor on the side started dogsitting a little dog our dog was barking at it and pushing at the fence at a spot where the bottom was loose and actually went through the fence into their yard. Nobody was more surprised than our dog! She was freaked out that she had made it into the neigbhors yard. Thankfully my wife and the neighbors wife were out there to get her back.

To make matters worse I caught the little boy who is about 7 that lives behind us taunting our dog. He would stand about four feet from the fence and act like he was going to lunge at her and was making threatening noises. Of course she was lunging back at the fence and barking. I saw all of this from our kitchen window and ran out to tell the kid not to do that but I bet he does it when we are not around.

In two weeks my BIL is coming to visit and brining one of those dog security wire set ups where you put a special collar on the dog and if they get too close to the flags or wires or whatever on the peremiter of the yard they get zapped. I am hoping this will keep her from getting too close to the fence and possibly into our neighbors yards. In the meantime we are keeping her in the house unless we are outside. We are also going to get some Beware of Dog signs.

I am glad she is protective and vicious sounding though because we have had a lot of breakins in our neighborhood with things stolen. I think nobody is going to come in our back door with this dog around!

Brother Stokes... Your faithfilled words make me shout "Praise the Lord"!

With your faith and attitude, your son will have no scars... maybe, a little of the frightful memory for a while.

Thanks for making my day the best with the example of your strong faith and your love for Jesus.

Praise the Lord!

Re: My Son was attacked

Thanks everybody for the kind words and prayers. My son had been playing with the dog and all of sudden it did this. This dog has been around a lot of kids and never done anything like this before. It was not a killer type dog -- it was a cocker spaniel. I am uncertain what is going to happen to the dog. Howard wants to put the dog down, but Linda is uncertain (the owners). They say whatever they do -- the dog will not be allowed around kids anymore. I have the same sentiments about the matter.
