Re: CD'S Going The Way Of The Dodo Bird!
This is interesting to see here today.
Yesterday I went to the local camera store to look at a new lens for my Digital SLR Camera. The woman that owns it was having a fit, saying that it wouldn't be any time at all before all of these photos that people have been saving on CDs and Sticks and even on their computer hard drives - they'll all be lost before much longer because technology moves on. Something better will replace all of our CDs and then what will do for our photos that we've archived that way? I told her that I always print out the pictures that I consider the best. The rest I do archive on both CD's and on my computer. But I make sure that if there is a picture that is especially important to me, I have it printed out. And I do it for that very reason. But I honestly don't think that digital photography is a bad thing. I love it! You just have to use some wisdom and plan ahead. Photos printed on paper will never be considered "obsolete". So for your generations to come behind you, please consider printing photos that they can hold in their hand and look at. But at the same time, don't fear saving your other photos on CD's, or thumb drives or computer hard drives. Or all three :) |

I still refer to new music cds from artists as new albums... What will they be called now?

I rip my music to my home and office computer... put favorite songs on disc for the car and store my original CD's in a folder type thingy... throwing away their cases.
