Re: Wonderful insight as to what it's all about!
This is such an interesting subject, and I've quite enjoyed reading to this point. It appears that whether or not it is a "need," God has established a way of doing--a modus operandi, if you please--that in effect places God in the position of needing His people. Consider the planting of a new work: Would a church spring up without man? Probably not, although God is capable of performing such a miracle. He seems not to operate in that way though, rather, "needs" people to propagate the Gospel.

If a "being" has a need it implies that such a being "lacks" something. God cannot have a need because He lacks nothing. That's the way I see it. God is all sufficient in Himself.

Yet, does God not limit Himself in the earth? Struggling that fearsome night in Gethsemane, not wanting to "drink the cup," Jesus went (for support? for comfort?) to His disciples, sadly finding them asleep, and clearly voicing disappointment.

My apologies, Mike, for not taking time to focus on your point in this thread. Indeed you are correct. I'm sure selfishness is very common in "Christianity"...self centered prayers, not putting their hearts into praying for others, etc..I know I personally, could do better praying for others and their needs, and in doing so, can "example" selflessness to my children. I realize your point was more so directed toward the "whole" concerning the "world of Christianity", but your point still encourages consideration towards selflessness, for us all. |
Re: Wonderful insight as to what it's all about!
Just think, God (Spirit,Deity, Father) sent His only begotten Son into the world as our
example as to what we should be (male or female). Just think what could be accomp- lished by His bringing many sons unto glory. Heb.2:10, For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through suffer- ings. Jesus is our Example. He only DID the things His Father told him to do. He only SAID the things his Father told him to say. If we are led by the Spirit of God, we become His sons also. To as many as believe on HIS Name! If there were many sons being totally Spirit-led, evangelizing the world would be an attainable task. God IN man was no doubt the Plan. Electricity needs something to carry it to all the area it needs to go to. God (Spirit) operates as the MAIN source of Power but needs something (someone) in which to dispense that power into all the world. Power plants need something to carry the power of electricity to the many places it can be used for, for good. I remember when my grandparents did not have electicity to their home. I remember when they first got electricity to their home. It brought light. and power for so many good purposes. But my grandparents didn't realize just how great electricity was, because they had never experienced it before. Once it came to them, they never wanted to be without it again. ALL POWER can be in the Power Plant, but it needs to be dispensed OUT to man, to be useful in the earth. THE GOSPEL (POWER OF GOD unto salvation) is powerful, BUT it needs to go out into all the world. Many people have never experienced the POWER of Almighty God in their lives because they have never received the Holy Ghost before. The wise understand and see the value of God in their lives and never desire to be without the HOLY GHOST in FULL OPERATION!!! YES, we need faith to believe that HE IS and that HE IS a Rewarder of them that diligently seek HIM. I wonder, if many times there are those who receive a little touch or blessing from the Lord, and they think they have all they need. Those that are HUNGERING and THIRSTING after RIGHTEOUSNESS are the ones who are going to be FILLED. IF something is FILLED, there is no room for anything else. Like a gas tank, if the gasoline is being used, it needs to be RE-FILLED from time to time. And pretty often at that! DO YOU KNOW - GOD GIVES RE-FILLS!!! Blessings, Falla39 |
