:rolleyes2 Now that is just down right crazy. My initial reaction was "oh my gosh are you kidding me!!". Then I thought, what about the UPC girls that weren't wearing a jean skirt? I'm waiting for the shamefaced remix. I think they were just being silly, just like many of the videos people put on their networking pages and such like such as. Twas a good laugh.

Some young people are having fun with video.... writing a goofy song.. and the big deal is??

The setting is a youth camp. How many single young people go to camp and return home in a relationship of some sort?

Calmate mijo...

Well apparently a lot more has been drinking the coolaid. If you didn't notice the beginning of the song was based on the standard "her hair is her glory", it would be just another stupid song if not for the fact that it reflects what is happening in the UPC doctrine wise

Of course it's just a fun song, and there's nothing wrong with them making it.

On the other hand I'm laughing my behind off at how hilarious it is.

My sound card is on the fritz, but it looks really cute. Brings me back to my high school days, with troops of us swishing along in our jean skirts.

It is, I believe a spoof on "ourselves"

Originally written as a funny kind of song, like "No bobbed hair girls gonna be in heaven",

it seems theyt have tried to make it more serious by tying it in with scripture.

I have never really been much of a fan of religoues parodies or songs that poke fun.

I think we should sing unto the Lord a new song....just not that song.

The group that sings that song, is to my knowledge, UPC from the midwest.

I see nothing wrong with the video. It obviously is not a worship song or a song to shockamoo to!

I don't have a problem with this type of fun song that seems to be an expression of the values of a subculture, namely young men who find beauty and appreciation for the ladies in their lives.

The music and video are well done.

A far cry from the songs of some sincultures that call their women garden tools and tricks

However, when we get to the bridge of this song we soon realize that a certain value has now permeated within this culture and it relates to its value of hair.

The bible speaks of being modest, it speaks of being different.
It does not relate the Glory of God so closely with "long hair flowing down" and most definitely does not say that her hair is the "power of angels".

This is the culmination of heretical doctrine being taught, now manifest in song.

Interesting seeing as they give the source for this as 1 Corinthians 11:10 from the Chapter we get our views on hair from.

Viggie, Jehovah witnesses source the bible even better. This is what is called prooftexting or finding a scripture to fit a belief.

1 Cor. Does not relate hair to the Glory of God but rather says it is "her glory" and the verses prior describe the power on her head as not the hair but rather the authority of the order He established (v. 7,8,9) nor does it say "the power of angels".

I suggest you read the Dan Segrave's article in the Pentecostal Herald, the UPCI's offiical organ, on the matter.
