I quite agree. The OGBB don't believe in music, no matter how much scripture you show them. I love it, but it's not necessary and a break once in a while is great change of pace.

I do appreciate the OGBB's elders ability to preach without the use of a sound system. They get along just fine as far as being heard in a large room. The meeting houses that I've been in are much larger than most UPCi sanctuaries that I've seen and they are usually very full.

I think more people would come and listen to the Truth if UPCi ministers would get over themselves in this regard. I believe that Paul would straighten them out if he were here. Too bad they don't listen to the Lord, of course, how can they....they've lost their hearing.

The more they lose it, the more they need to turn it up.

We apostolicas think that loud equals spiritual. We think that loud makes people respond to God.

Just another one our many false assumptions.

I spent many years in church that was always so loud. some of the musians wore ear plugs on the platform.

The people that went out and contacted visitors asked them what they liked or didn't like about the church.

Many times people told them it was SO LOUD.

But yet they would not turn it down.

I took a blind man to a camp meeting and after 10 minutes he got up and went outside where he stayed for the rest of the night. They put a chairs out there for him and his wife to sit in. I went out to find out what was wrong and he told me he was already blind and didn't need to go deaf too. He wanted to protect his ears which he felt he had already lost 10% of his hearing in after being in there as long as he had been. This was an eye opener for me. Having grown up in this type of atmosphere, it was normal for me.

Stubbornness doesn't speak to me of spirit filled Christianity.

Titus 1:7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

Loud isn't always Spiritual, and one can make a Joyful Noise without being deafening!!

JMHO

Some of the worst singers hide behinf that joyful noise scripture.

I tell those on my praise team that get off key or out of beat, That is NOT a joyful noise.....just noise.

I think I know what you are driving at. At what point do you think a refusal to be led of the Spirit results in no more Spirit filled? How smart is that?
