Not sure, it's much longer than that.

How awesome! That lady could sing for sure!!!!!!

I don't think Juanita looked inpatient at all - I think she felt the move just like everyone else did. Even what she said let you know that - we better move on before we can't.

BTW, I yanked off my geetar and had me a time! My wife hit every other note on the keys as she played/danced, and we had some choir members who probably might be embarrased if we showed some video!
"I don't walk like I used to walk,
He made the difference,
I don't talk like I use to talk,
He made the difference
I don't live like I used to live,
He made the difference,
I don't give like I used to give,
He made the difference,
He made the dif-ference, He made the difference in my life,

What a chaaaaaange, what a chaaaange......"

I love this song!

If it wasn't for the Lord, where would I be?
My life was nuthin' until He set me free
What a change He made in my life
No more compromise, the wrong for the right
He made the difference, He made the dif'rence in my life

He gives me joy that cannot be surpassed
I'm on a cloud, from the first moment to the last
He walks with me, talks with me, telling me I'm His own
He calms all my fears, I know I am not alone
He made the difference, He made the dif'rence in my life

Our choir sings it, and we have a trio do the verses. More often than not, our trio loses our tenor as he can only contain himself so long before he takes off shouting and dancing. We have us some good shouting times in church when we sing this song.

Come on, tell it girl!
We use a trio for the verses as well, its sounds more like the recording by James Bignon.
I love worshipping singers that worship on and off of the platform!

What didya think of this posted video, made me want to move myself!

To me, it was classic old time COGIC worship, and I loved it! I like the older style black gospel, and that precious mother was a' singin' her heart out, (but, I am sorry that she was on TBN - I have a well learned aversion to it, thanks to my childhood exposure to it - and I also personally don't care for Juanita Bynum) It made this verse of scripture come to mind:

Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God. Psalm 50:23

She was offering praise and glorifying God, and so the presence of God came near; now, so long as she (and I and everybody else who draws breath) orders our lives 'aright' - according to the Word of God - He will show us His salvation.

To me, it seemed like 'getting the broadcast done' was far more important than even a visit from Almighty God, and so those who felt His presence weren't given a chance to stay there in His presence and maybe hear His voice drawing them to Himself. Yet one more reason while I shall ever remain adamantly opposed to trying to prostitute the Jesus name message on television for the sake of somebody's ego (and spiritual laziness).

Yayeahhh!! grandma sang:sing and the Holy Ghost fell!!!

Yep, mamma shoutin' and enjoyin' the Holy Ghost probably doesn't bring in the contributions as good as the 'program' does. 'Tis a shame, isn't it?

I was thinking the same thing!

SISTER Murphy 06-03-2007 10:08 AM

Why, if you let the Holy Ghost have His way, then the focus isn't on the host/hostess (read, 'star'), of the show anymore. Can't have that, either!

Barb 06-03-2007 10:15 AM

Y'all could be right that it was all about the host, but it could also be anther story all together...

We must remember that there are production people standing off camera with signs which may read "Wind it up!" or "15 minutes left of air time!" or "Give a closing statement!"

We just do not know...

Then they shouldn't act as if they really want God to move, then get upset when HE does! Amen!

Brett Prince 06-03-2007 10:31 AM

Truth is, she simply reminded me of a lot of high powered preachers when they say stuff like, "Ya'll aren't hearin' me!" or "Ya'll aren't gettin' this!"

Usually pumps the crowd up more. At the same time, she DID have the element that she had other invited guests that she wanted to give time to, and she may have felt that they might feel they had been snubbed if they didn't get there air time.

THIS IS JUST ONE MORE PROOF THAT TELEVISION FORMATTING IS NOT HELPFUL WHEN IT COMES TO PENTECOSTAL CHURCH SERVICES.

If we just simply tape the whole service and edit it down to size--that's one thing. But if we are doing live shows, or "pre-recorded, but 'timed for air' shows," we are going to have to seriously monkey with the spontaneity of our worship. NOT A GOOD THING.

Let's stretch the argument for "No TV" somemore with this statement. This happened eaaaaaarly in the show...and the only people left were The Clark Sisters who had 1.5 hours left in the program. The Clark Sisters KNOW about the move of God...and do not quinch it for anything.

Another thing to consider....TBN's Praise the Lord program...whereas it is taped LIVE...it is actually tape delayed one hour. Allows for editing if need be. :bubble

I think you guys missed the whole point....especially when no contributions were even talked about.

If you saw...the "star" kept on putting the mic in the hand of her mother.

Guess people will see whatever they want to (and choose to) see.

That is true....but I have been to 3 TBN tapings now and will say I saw Matt Crouch leave the platform and tell the production lady to STOP IT! I saw Laurie Crouch on this last show....when the ladies were speaking...the production person gave her some minutes and she said NO. They allowed a talking portion to continue because of what was being said.

I don't need ears to SEE that she was upset. She should have let it continue. The taping is delayed. It could have been edited.:)

I can tell you....Juanita was not upset. You just need to get in some black churches to know what that really means. Believe me....Juanita has not shown her upset 'tude on camera of TBN. :heeheehee

I attended a P.A.W. in my hometown. It was twice dead and plucked up by the roots.
I attended a P.A.W. in Fresno for a youth service. It was like going to an awesome white upc, but not as radical like what I've heard about black churches.

That is SO true and happens everywhere...we hear what we want, see what we want, read into things what we want, believe what we want, and it's nothing more than a matter of perception.

People think they know what went on in the mind of the host or producer based on what they perceive that which they think they saw, and it ain't necessarily so.

I don't think there is need to stretch this. I am just simply maintaining that TV does have its time constraints. Editing a live recording IS the best process.

As for the Clark Sisters--I have no doubt they have had countless times been a part of the move of God. Juanita Bynum has as well. But, anybody who has led such meetings also feels the constraints to move onward.

All I was saying was that I didn't really a major problem with how she handled things. She allowed for the move of God, and she let that great old lady sing the Holy Ghost down! She also moved the meeting on. Pretty decent job, if you ask me.

Sister Murphy...puhleeeeze, don't even go there. It would have been one thing to say something about the program...another thing to go after me. Since this was a personal statement towards me, and knowing that your first thing is to start attacking the individual poster....I will end this discussion with you and won't allow you to go any further. It's a mute point. God bless you.

All I was thinking while I saw that was......if I was to die tomorrow and my memorial service was one in which the Lord just moved in and people were touched, or shockamoo'd like in the video....that would make me happy.

As a young kid, I remember one funeral..... Rev. A.H. Browning's .... As a preteen kid I remember the worship that sounded like it literally would raise the roof. To this day, I hope that my funeral is like His.

It can....I've just expected the same from Sister Murphy. Bring up something...she has something negative to say about the poster...it's a game I'm not going to play with her. I don't have time to discuss things with those who want to sit on a higher seat.

That is what a homegoing service should be like. I want people to remember me...yes. I want people to cry...yes. :heeheehee But more than anything, I want people to feel God so heavy because there is nothing like the presence of God when it saturates and falls on a body of believers. What an unforgettable service.
