"This generation" was describing a particular time, with a series of events the Lord was speaking about, which has NEVER happened in the history of the world yet.

The generation was the one Jesus was speaking to at the time. This generation shall not pass. Emphasis on the word "this" sort of makes it real plain. :)

No one is blending anything anywhere, you are making assumptions concerning things that the chapter obviously isn't saying. Also even if you read this as a futurist you cannot be pre tribulation rapture because those who were taken are destroyed and left for the vultures and eagles to pick apart. Luke 17:35-37 "There will be two women grinding at the same place; one will be taken and the other will be left Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other will be left." And answering they said to Him, "Where, Lord?" And He said to them, "Where the body is, there also the vultures will be gathered." That's no rapture, but people being taken in war, and being left for dead so the carrianne birds to pick their bones. Judeans dispersed weren't taken to Babylon to become part of the country, and empire, these Judeans were taken captives into the Roman Empire at the edge of the sword, never to be regathered back into their land to rebuild a temple, and reinstate a temple priesthood with animal sacrifices. No Jew living today can prove their lineage as they could back in the time of Jesus Christ, especially the Aaronic Zadokite priesthood.

Also you say that this generation will be the ones witnessing sun going out, moon turning to blood, and the constellations hurdling down towards the planet? Seriously? You may not know this, but if our sun goes out there won't be a witness left, and if the constellations were to collapse upon the planet you wouldn't have any millennium to work out the rest of your eschatological voodoo.

If you are one of the fig tree blossomites then you would have to answer the parallel chapter to Matthew Matthew 24:32-35 which is Luke 21:29. If it is 1948, then what other ancient people were restored during 1948?

Also the tribulation which Jesus is speaking of is one that only concerns the holy people which Daniel prophesy concerned, scattering the power of the holy people. When Jesus gives His discourse concerning the Temple and saying that it would be pulled down brick by brick, the Judeans took those words as Jesus speaking a curse upon them. Tearing down the temple would mean the same thing which happened when Nebuchadnezzar destroys the temple. It would mean that God was pouring His wrath upon His people. Yet, this time they would never recover. There only hope was the ark of the Body of Christ, and if they didn't climb on board when the apostles preached then they would be taken away with a flood of war.

Jesus said this temple shall be destroyed, that not one stone will be thrown down.

Mat 24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

There were famines, pestilences, earthquakes, even kingdom rising against kingdom.

Mat 24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

All of the above happened in that period of time.

Scripture tells us the gospel was preached to all the world and to every creature.

These very words were the warning of Christ to flee Jerusalem, and the Christians did just that. Then history tells us of the great tribulation that those left in the surrounding areas of Jerusalem under the siege of Rome for three and a half years. To the point that they were eating their own children.

Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

This is simply a warning to the Christians that fled to Pella, to stay in the safety until the end.

This is not speaking of literal stars falling from the heavens. Rather the fall of ruling powers. OT scriptures give us several instances where these terms are used in this manner.

This really did happen, at least two historians wrote of seeing heavenly horsemen and chariots riding in the sky.

This is not speaking of a rapture, but a resurrection of the dead of all the righteous up to that point.

These are the very words that saved the Christians from being part of the great judgment of God on those that crucified Christ and did not repent.

Mat 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Mat 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

This does not mean the world was any more evil than it ever was, it simply means that they were living life as they always had and were caught unawares when the judgment came on them.

Mat 24:41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Again this is not speaking of a rapture, it is speaking of how Titus carried away many of the living away captive as slaves.

Many would have you believe that none of this happened, because like the religious leaders of Christ day, their temporal minds cannot grasp the kingdom of God in the world today

No, He was speaking to them about a particular generation in time that He(Jesus) Himself, did not even know when exactly (it) would happen.(unknown to Jesus also).

He was telling (WHOSOEVER READETH) to understand these events and be ready for His 2nd coming.

Again, these cataclysmic events have not happened yet, so we watch and wait, observing the signs of His soon coming, as we ALL are instructed.

there is evidence for the kingdom among us now, as well as for a kingdom to come. Our understandings about any of these mysteries can only come from a limited perspective, through a mirror darkly. It wouldn't surprise me if 70ad was a type for another fulfillment, as things seem to work that way, accomplished in the physical and the spiritual.

President Obama’s weak-tea plan is summarized in a Wall Street Journal article that says he authorized a covert CIA program in 2013. The aim, the Journal reports, was to “gradually build a moderate force strong enough to put military pressure on Mr. Assad.”

But instead of victory, Obama only wanted to “force the regime to accept a political solution.”

Contrast that limited objective with Vladimir Putin’s sweeping plan, as summarized by Frederick Kagan and Kimberly Kagan. Of course you like it better because it is straight out of Search for truth home bible study course 101. And although it may seem clear to you, you added to the passage when you said Christ gave them more info than they ask for. Further you also cannot answer the question that Christ said "this generation shall not pass until All these things come to pass".

Christ did not say, some generation sometime in the future that sees these things, he said "this generation" period. Again to change the meaning of his words is to add to the word of God, and we are instructed over and over never to do that with scripture.

Jesus said to a group of men that THIS generation, therefore THIS generation was the people he was addressing. My lands, you are no way even a dispensationalist.
