It's the spirit behind ALL of these things!

It is the spirit that is behind the reasoning for wearing the “pants” or what-ever for that matter. Why would a woman want to wear anything that is historically man’s appeal?

I don't personally know any women who wear pants for the sake of wanting to "look like a man". This would seem to nullify the concept of the "spirit" behind it.

Actually it really does if you use Deut 22:5 IN CONTEXT.

"wear" in that particular passage and no where else in the bible has this definition:

H1961
היה
hâyâh
haw-yaw'
A primitive root (compare H1933); to exist, that is, be or become, come to pass

It does not mean and does not speak of donning a pair of pants. It is an issue of the heart.

Good point.... and in either case, the two are not tied together. Wearing pants and "desiring to be a man/woman" if your are in fact, not.

You are correct. If we needed a solid scripture to preach against homosexuality that is the one! BUT, we have relegated that to wearing an article of clothing. It is so much more and a much more powerful interpretation.

Actually, it's historically women's apparel. Women in China wore a pants like garment in the 4th century. When men started wearing pants in the 1600's, they were considered unmanly and immodest.

Besides, panty hose, stockings, high heels and even face powder was once considered men's apparel. You sure you want to go where you are steering?

Elder, I have a question for you.
This is a picture of a woman wearing traditional Indian garb.

Would you say she's wearing men's apparel?
And if not, why not?
