Fact is... they are renting facilites or using facilites.. they aren't JOINING UP and having services all together...
The point is moot...

"Let the anti-UPCers arise"

This is not about bashing the UPC. I would say the samething if the AG church was the one not having a sanctuary and the UPC asked to assist. As I stated we do not know for sure whether they asked to assist, but what we do know is that the AG church did without reservation. Just calling 'em as I see 'em. If you all do not like that it is ok. I am not taking a shot at your particual assembly.

I'm with Sis Boomer, The possibilities of what God can do through this AOG/UPC connection is huge. Whether others offered or not, I definetely think this could be a God Thing!

I guess we all just call it like we see it sometimes.

I have been part of 2 different UPC churches in my life. One of them allowed 2 other churches to use their facilities each for several years and at no charge. One of the other groups was Apostolic Assemblies and the other was another UPC church. This was under 2 different pastors.

The other UPC church I was part of allowed a neighboring oneness independant church to use their facility for a few weeks at no charge when they had a fire.

Seems that you two are on the same page, but the fact is that DramaQueen already stated that there is a UPC churcher closer that did not seem to have offered. One thing I know from experience is that some help and some don't. The point of having a fellowship -even though it is more like an organization- is to have someone there to be the family and help in the need of a crisis. Obviosly we can not know for sure if the UPC church did or did not offer. One thing we can say is the AG church did and they are not as close and not part of the fellowship/family. They are part of the body of Christ but what about the family? It says great things about the AG churches leadership and view of the body. It is just sad to me that if you are close enough to another church of the same organization and are not the first ones to ask to assist. IMO:stirpot

Just for the sake of the "facts".

My mistake. You all know what I mean though. Whether family is 1/4 block or 2 blocks away family is still family is it not.

My whole point is.....to infer that UPC churches did not offer to help is what bugged me. It does not matter to me how close or how far apart they were. The thing is, to my knowledge, there is no one here who has the knowledge of whether or not there was an offer from the UPC churches. To infer that there wasn't is just wrong. We don't know what the churches have offered. Pastor Don Lance does not seem to be complaining.....he is looking forward to what God is gonna do!

Why is everyone assuming the worst of the other UPC churches? This is just as bad as if the other UPC churches had deliberately not offered.

I do appreciate the AG church offering.

Fact is... at this point we don't know
a)who offered,
b)who didn't...
c)who offered first...
d)who wasn't thinking on their feet to offer right away...
or e)(my personal favorite)
who deliberately didn't offer because they were scared of losing their saints...

It's all negativity, you can't call it anything less.
The original post was supposed to be thanking God for providing.

I'm just annoying that way, things stick in my head. I just wish this discussion hadn't taken this turn.
