This raises a good point.

If we believe there are man-made errors in the KJV, how do we know which scriptures are in error and which ones aren't?

Kind of makes Joelel's statement about the Holy Ghost revealing to him which scriptures are in error and which ones aren't a bit more conceivable.

If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, studying the original language (and I don't just mean looking up that one word in a dictionary/lexicon) would help a lot. I haven't studied Greek so am in no way qualified to offer an opinion, but I do know what my pastor believes and why, and trust his translation from the Greek....since he is qualified to translate and offer his interpretation.

I do believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God. That the original text is most likely without error. That man has at times erred or been unclear in the translation of it, but that by simply looking up the original words and their meanings, it is more than clear what they are.

I used to use KJV, but after learning the history of King James himself, and the agenda he had in having that version made.... well, I got an NASB.

I still use my concordance and bible dictionary though. Any scripture that is deemed important enough to create a doctrine over, to label something "sin" or not, or be at all "salvational," should, in my opinion, be thoroughly studied in the original language and see if that is what it really meant.

As another brother mentioned, "Study to show yourself approved."

Excellent post.

Maybe this is why God built in the caveat that "no scripture is given for solitary interpretation".

Too many doctrines have been built on one scripture, standing by itself.

And your point is valid. There are so many ideas about so many different things, who is right? I really do think there's only one truth, not many, and I think a lot are going to be kind of surprised to discover what that is (for all I know, maybe myself included in that).
